This hotel was overpriced for what it offered and curiously the rates varied from 99 to 139 Pounds Sterling for one room over one week in August. The room itself, a double with kitchen/eating area was clean, spacious and light but too light early morning with its inadequate curtains. The fitted carpet on the stairs etc. badly needed cleaning. The...

Booked this hotel at last minute - not our usual area (travel to London once or twice a week for business & mainly stop westminster / kings cross area) but quite liked it - very studenty / touristy / multicultural feel. No complaints about hotel - we had a double room without kitchenette. Bathroom is small cubicle / pod within...

Ok I'm going to get right to the point (or points): Here's why I don't like this hotel. 1. When you arrive there are no signs to let you know it's a hotel. You think you are entering someone's house. 2. The smell that hits you when you enter is awful. 3. Reception is way at the back. You have...

Having travelled to London on numerous occasions I have stayed in many areas, and I have to say this has definitely been the best. It is located about a minute away from the Bayswater tube station, as well as numerous eateries and pubs. The room itself was perfect for the two night stay, and we wish we'd booked for longer....

What looked to be a very pleasant the stylish hotel was ultimately very disappointing. From the walk through the kitchen, having to squeeze past a member of staff making themselves a ham sandwich to get to the desk to check in through to the polycarbonate box in my 'deluxe' room that was actually the bathroom, the hotel felt like it...

My husband and I decided to rent on of the deluxe rooms as we were staying for a few nights. The room was as described on the net (well almost), a lovely large room with kitchenette and cooking facilities. The main room was clean, had excellent air con (30 deg outside, we needed it!) and a decent size kitchenette with...

We stayed here on a sat night in Jan, and I can say that it was OK. The room and hotel look nice, it was clean and it's in a good location. The only problems were minimal. The pillows were about as thick as envelopes and they shouldn't have bothered putting them on the bed at all, and the boiler...

Booked through Late Rooms and paid £49 for a standard double. Room was a decent size and wasn't too different from the photos of the deluxe doubles that Late Rooms have/had. For the price breakfast was included, was more European than English (croissant, toast, ham, cheese, yoghurt) and is brought to your room at a time you specify. Customer service...

Hotel was decorated badly. Plug in bathroom sink never worked and even when I told them about it , nothing happened. Breakfast was served into your room every day - except my first day as they had not really advised the breakfast girl about my requirement for the earliest breakfast (8am). 8am meant somewhere around 8am. Breakfast was slightly browned...

Wi-fi was not available in the basement room which I was first allocated. In the 2nd, much smaller, room I was allocated not all the power sockets worked, there were uninsulated cores in the bathroom, there was no window stay on the single opening window, so it could only be closed or would fling itself wide open, and the only...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
