My husband and I stayed at the Ridgemount for 3 nights, at the rate of £75 per night in an en suite room (bathroom attached). We were in London as tourists, so it was important for us to be near the "tube" stations. We wanted an affordable, clean, quiet hotel that also had en suite rooms and breakfast included. We...

I stay in this hotel in June of this year. The good thing was that it was in good place for shopping and travel into tourist areas. But I was unhappy about many things in this hotel. We had to queue for long time in the mornings to be able to get a brekfast table due to the amount of...

I decided to go deluxe and ordered a double with ensuite. This was one of the few trips where we were not going to stay at multiple destinations and I was looking forward to not living out of a suitcase. Our room was small (expected), but I was disappointed that there were no drawers to speak off. There were hangers...

Pros: Location. The Bloomsbury district is more residential and less touristy area of London with a lot of history. Hot breakfast was greatly appreciated each morning. Very near to the Gower street tube $: A good value for the money. Staff was very helpful with directions and suggestions. Thanks! Cons: Stairs, lots of them LOTS of street noise. If you...

I Stayed at the Rigdemount for 5 nights in July. I had looked for reviews of hotels in London below £80/night, and the Ridgemout seemed like a good option. I booked in January for a room at the back, and I'm glad I did so. Gower Street is a VERY busy street, so the noise becomes a problem around 8...

After years of disappointing (an understatement) accommodation in London, here at last is an address we can recommend for a comfortable stay in London at reasonable cost. Each time we returned to this fascinating city, we trembled at what kind of room we would find and how long we could stay in it, concluding this was just the general standard....

A coworker mentioned the hotel as being really good and conveniently located. It is by American standards an older building in Bloomsbury about 2 blockes from the British Museum. Quite convenient to shopping, theaters and public transportation. Rooms and facilities are kept very clean and neat. Room was ensuite and well stocked. Breakfast was included; juice,tea/coffee, either cold cereal or eggs,bacon,sausage,...

Pros: Location, staff, breakfast (excellent bacon!), overall athmosphere. Cons: Tiny room, very small bed (only about 110cm's for two adults to share), no aircon, funny smell that made us keep the window open all night.

In the middle of crazy, crowded London, this hotel is a find, and I hope to stay there again. From the moment we walked in the hosts welcomed us, and provided helpful information, including maps and transport information. This warmth continued every morning at breakfast, when one of the family running the hotel walked to each table and inquired what...

I can't add to what most have said. It's very well run. EXCELLENT location and value. Near several tube stops, and bus stops. It's basic, but perfect for me. I'd stay here again, and that's the best recommendation I can give. Keep in mind, as with most London hotels, there is no air conditioning, and air flow can be a...

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
