Aster House is a lovely Victorian townhouse located down a quiet street about a block from the South Kensington tube stop, and is walking distance to the Victoria and Albert Museum. It is also close to Harrods, but I would likely just jump on the tube to the Knightsbridge station which is just one stop away. Upon our arrival we...

I spent 10 days here with my time mostly spent in the museums. The hotel gave me a good deal, being off season and I saved 5% by paying cash. That was easy to do by getting the money converted by my bank at home for free and then keeping it in the safe in my room at the hotel....

Aster House is located at South Kensington where there are many museums and close to Harrod's, Knightsbridge shopping area, Hyde park and many small local restaurants. It's 1.5 blocks away from the tube station and has 3 lines there. Even though it's close to all places, it's in a quite neighborhood and has a small garden behind. The breakfast is...

We had two rooms: a single overlooking the strret and a double ( two twin beds pushed together to make a king) overlooking the rear garden for 7 nights. Lovely rooms which are kept in immaculate condition and very gracious hosts. Breakfast was more than adequate and location can't be beat. 5 minute walk to So. Kensington tube station, V...

We agree with the recommendations of Rick Steves and other Trip Advisor readers. My wife and I stayed in this hotel in 1999, when it had a different name and different owners. We returned because we enjoyed the quiet street in South Kensington, away from the chaos and noise of more central London locations. The Victoria and Albert Museum, Natural...

Been staying here over 20 years and have never been disappointed. Rooms are yes, small, but it's London. Baths are all updated. Leonie is just the best ever in answering any question or handling any issue you could have. Breakfast is always fresh, consistent and tasty. Have recommended it to many friends on their trip to London. Oh, and the...

We thoroughly enjoyed our two visits to Aster House this past September and October. The location near the South Kensington tube stop gave us easy access to all the sights and was close to a selection of restaurants. Try the tapas restaurant! Breakfast was excellent with pastries, cold cuts, poached and scrambled eggs, cereals, fresh fruits, and of course, baked...

This B&B is ideally located in Kensington a short walk away from the Victoria and Albert Museum. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good but not excellent. Good restaurants close by in the neighbourhood and close to a tube stop.

Lovely B&B with very comfy rooms and updated modern facilities and spectacular sun room for breakfast. Located on a beautiful and elegant quiet side street. Felt like a locals coming home from our hectic day in the city. Loved our little garden room downstairs. The owner is charming and so helpful. Full of great advice with best directions for anywhere...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
