Wonderful place just a short 3 to 5 minute walk to the South Kensington tube stop. Take the Piccadilly line direct from Heathrow. Room was very clean and the beds very comfortable. Aster house is on a quiet residential street, no traffic noise with nice restaurants within easy walking distance. Can also walk to the museums and Kensington Place. Breakfast had poached or scrambled eggs, tea, juice and a variety of fresh pastries along with fruit, yogurt and cereal. Really loved the location.

From the moment I booked this reservation I was impressed with the speedy response and efforts of Leonie. Upon arriving we were instantly impressed with our room...so comfortable, quiet and clean. I usually have trouble sleeping away from home but I've had a good nights sleep each night while here.
The other positive is the breakfast that is provided. There is an assortment of food items that will meet the needs of everybody. The location was very close to the tube and many restaurants and businesses that you might need as a traveler.
It's obvious that Leonie cares about each and everyone of her lodgers and you're made to feel right at home. We appreciate the kindness and effort of Leonie and her staff and would certainly stay here again if returning to London. It's been a very pleasurable stay.

Lovely reasonably-priced B&B on a quiet street in beautiful Kensington. Rooms are not large but are very nicely decorated. The B&B is spotless and there is daily housekeeping (not always the case in even the most expensive hotels). We enjoyed an ample breakfast in Aster House's very nice L'Orangerie room on the second floor, overlooking Sumner Place and the inn's back and side gardens. We would definitely look to return on a future visit to London.

I loved everything about the Aster House. Its very centrally located with the South Kensington tube stop just a short 5 minute walk, and of course walking distance to the Victoria & Albert, Science and Natural History museums. I stayed with my daughter "12' and another family with their 2 girls age "10" and "12". Such a variety of restaurants to choose from in the area and of course, you get a nice continental breakfast in the am. Leoni and Simon were always on hand to assist with any questions we might have. The rooms are spotless and very comfortable beds, as well as quiet. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Admittedly now is a difficult time to travel, but with Leonie’s help, I was able to order the UK required 2 day tested be delivered to the Aster House. She even took care of dropping it off. Ah, but I have gotten ahead of myself. Any and all communication with Aster House pre arrival was answered promptly and completely by Leonie. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and immediately made to feel welcome. The Kensington location is so perfect and near the S Kensington Station, so convenient as well. Restaurants abound and any type of service one might require could be found nearby. Hey, the easy walking distance to Harrods would be an extra plus.
Our room was the Garden Suite, spacious, immaculately clean, comfy bed and a pleasant view of a very pretty garden….even in the rain. There was also a spacious bathroom with a shower and a big tub.
Add to that the breakfast, which is included, offered a good assortment of food and eggs expertly prepared by Lola. How did she make those scrambled eggs so fluffy?
When we left I told Leonie I felt I was saying goodbye to a friend.

We loved Aster House! Old world charm and modern conveniences. We stayed in the Superior Poster Suite 5 nights - the room was large and comfortable, plenty of closet, desk and dresser space. Comfortable king size bed, sparkling clean modern bathroom. Excellent Daikin split unit kept us cool. Good wifi and enough outlets. Although the room faced the street, it was remarkably quiet. Lovely copious breakfast with cooked to order eggs and other goodies, served in the beautiful orangerie. The location could not be better - on a beautiful quiet street with almost no traffic but just around the corner were plenty of restaurants, a pub, gelaterie, and South Kensington tube station and many buses. 5 minutes walk from the V&A Museum. And last but not least, Leonie was a superb host, so helpful and friendly. This will be our London hotel of choice!

My adult daughter and I stayed four day/nights at this lovely B&B just last week. The owner Leoni's instructions and details were exactly as presented in our welcoming email. We stayed in a twin room on the top floor (4th floor), lots of room and large clothes closet with cubbies, a safe and many wooden hangers. Small detail but one I like. No elevator but not a problem for us. Bathroom was perfectly sized and very modern fixtures. Comfortable beds and duvet coverings. Breakfast daily was terrific in the lovely sunroom on the 2nd floor which we enjoyed before each day's walk about. The location to the South Kensington underground tube was only a couple blocks away. Felt very safe in this neighbourhood. Dinners out were local, and we especially enjoyed Brindisa Tapas and Eli's on Bute Street. I will definitely rebook here on a future trip.

There is a reason travel legend Rick Steves calls the Aster House his home away from home in London!

We arrived after an overnight flight quite early and our hostess held our luggage until our room was ready so we could immediately explore and start our touring of London. She was eager to answer questions and make us welcome. We also had door to door pick up from Heathrow to our accommodations, arranged by her.

The site is impeccably maintained, the rooms are well appointed. Our room was a standard size, but offered air conditioning - which is not the norm for bed and breakfast sites in our travels, and even had a patio with plants and a small garden through French doors in our room- such an oasis for being in a city! The bed was also comfortable and bathroom functional.

The morning breakfast had a nice variety of pastries, toasts, meats and eggs, with tea/coffee.

We found South Kensington is quiet and seemed safe, just far away from the hustle bustle tourist center of the city, but plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops within walking distance. Beautiful neighborhood too!

Easy access to the tube or any cab you may want to get around the London.

Pricing is very fair and reasonable for a city site with amenities and comfort.

Staying at the Aster House has been the very best, experience I could have hoped for. Leonie is the “best of the best “ you could want for a host. She is kind, polite, helpful and very friendly. I have food allergies and she went out of her way to make sure that I had the right foods to eat and that there was plenty. The server in the breakfast room was also helpful. My room had a balcony with lovely plants and a place to sit and enjoy the sun. The Bed was comfortable and the room very clean. The bonus is that everything you could want to See or Do is just a short walk from here! I plan to stay here again!

Aster House was absolutely wonderful. Leoni arranged transportation for us from Windsor to London and was there to greet us upon our arrival. The rooms are incredibly comfortable, clean, quiet, and had everything we needed. There are numerous restaurants, shops, stores, museums, and the underground station within a very short walking distance from the House. Even though the House is very close to everything, it is extremely quiet and peaceful, even during the day.

The breakfast was very nicely prepared and abundant. Leoni was available at all times and made sure her guests were well cared for. I rarely leave reviews but Aster House is a treasure. I look forward to returning.

Hiring a local guide is a good idea. Another option is to use a Hop On Hop Off bus to get an overview of the city. There are several such companies in London. If you just stay on the bus, a complete loop might take 4 or 5 hours due to traffic. If you have more time, pick one or two sites to jump off at and visit. Buy entry tickets in advance if possible. Have a great time in a great city!
