Lovely Hotel near Smithfieldmarket. We stayed in the Jack Sheppard room. The bed is too small for a couple, so I would choose a different room next time. But otherwise we where very happy with our stay. It's well situated, quite and lots of restaurants near by.

On the plus side: great location near Smithfield market and St Pauls near Thames. Comfortable bed. Tea/coffee tray provided (if you request it). Lots of eateries nearby. On the minus side: very noisy at night due to loading/unloading for the nearby shops/cafes. Bed linen is combined with duvet - bad if you get too hot. Noisy air con. Dark bedroom...

Beautifully furnished room, comfortable and luxurious. Convenient location, short walk from Farringdon Station. Friendly staff who offered us a free breakfast as the heating was temporarily not working when we arrived. Overall a good experience we'd repeat if we needed to stay in the area again.

I stayed here for 3 nights on a work trip. From the moment I arrived the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Mark the evening manager made me feel so welcome and every staff member I met was fantastic. The tea/coffee making tray I had every day was brilliant, with a little bottle of real milk (not those horrible plastic...

This was my 3rd stay at The Rookery. It always feels so comfortable returning to this hotel. The staff are so efficient, friendly and helpful. I adore the building and decor as it always makes me feel like I'm living in London during the times of Charles Dickens. The breakfasts are amazing and worth every penny. This visit I decided...

Just steps from Faringdon Rd, Clerkenwell, Hatton Garden, Smithfield Market and a short walk to St Paul's, etc, this beautifully furnished hotel is a home away from home. Each room with a its own design and name it was a great place to come home to after busy days at work. Excellent free wifi too.

I stayed at The Rookery for three nights. The room was incredibly small, double bed didn't at all qualify as a double, queen-size bed. I liked the style and the breakfast was really delicious, although you have to have it in your room so while you eat and drink juice, your hot beverage gets completely cold. It's a great location...

We had a wonderful stay at the Rookery. I found the customer service excellent from the moment I got in touch to ask for advice about which room to book for my husband's birthday. In the end we were upgraded to the Rooks Nest which was a real treat - thank you. Stepping in off the street, its hard to...

Literally 2 minutes walk from Farringdon station you'll find this beautiful hotel. It is so quaint with so much character that it really doesn't belong near a busy train/tube station in London. We booked the superior double for £250. It isn't cheap and breakfast isn't included. We moved from the room we were given as I really didn't like it...

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighbourhood Profile
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
