Have just stayed here for 2 nights & won't be returning! It is a cheap but not so cheerful hotel. Good bits first...location not too bad, near Gloucester Rd tube & a few local shops if needed. Bed comfy, sheets etc clean but duvet cover had no poppers! It is all quite shabby but I could see they had tried... More

I stayed in the Curzon House Hotel for a week this summer and it was a very unpleasant experience. The rooms were dirty, the toilet did not flush properly and when I complained about this the staff refused to fix it and actually were quite rude. The hotel is also located next to several building sites that are very noisy,... More

There is nothing fancy but the location in zone 1, and the price range makes it quite a deal. The staff is friendly, rooms clean, the kitchen facilities available all day long, free WiFi. What more can you ask for?

The shower/bathroom situation (one per floor) is less than ideal, but you can't beat the price for the location. Located about 5 minutes from two different tube spots in zone 1, it is easy to get wherever you need to go in London from this location. We stayed in a three bed room. The beds were nice, we had a... The previous reviews had left me weary of trying this hotel but it was the cheapest hotel in the area so we decided to give it a try and were pleasantly surprised. The staff were lovely and held our bags while we took in the sight before it was time to check in. The room was perfectly adequate for a... More

We loved this location for museums, restaurants, and the tube. The room was adequate in size, but reasonable in price for London. They were very accommodating in allowing us to check in early, and the rooms were kept very clean.

I was very nervous about booking here after hearing all the bad reviews but there was nothing else locally within my budget. We found the hotel easy enough - tucked in the backstreets slightly but opposite the church so has a good landmark to go by. Rang the doorbell around 10.30pm, was buzzed through to a lovely spacious hallway. The... More

Stayed here few times. At first it was ok but each time I returned it got worse. Our shower didn't work so I went to the one at the top floor. Which had a door that didn't shut and directly opposite was an open window which again would not shut so had to shower with the houses behind being able... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
