This unpretentious establishment is excellent value for money. It provides many combinations of bed set ups and grades, allowing one to choose an option to suit your needs and budget. It is conveniently situated between Earls Court and Gloucester Road underground stations and within a short walking distance to many restaurants and pubs. The room is clean and comfortable and... Great location near Earls Court train station plus plenty of buses. Several grocery stores, drug store, laundromat, post office all within a block or two. Straight shot to LHR on the Piccadilly Line. Hotel employees emailed me back within hours everytime I had an inquiry. Staffed 24 hours a day (I arrived at 1AM in the rain and was warmly... More

Found base2stay on Trip Advisor, great reviews from everyone, and in conversations with the staff leading up to the stay and during, they were nothing but helpful and polite. On arrival, great welcome, very knowledgeable, and were waiting on us. Location is great in Kensington/Earls Court area of London, directly accessible via tube from Heathrow. Safe area of London, lots... More

The rooms may be small, but they are so bright, cozy, and stylish that it doesn't even matter. The place looks great, smells great, and feels like a fine hotel room should. The washroom was, in fact, nearly the largest of our trip -- no tub, but tons of counter space. The comforter was fluffy and clean, and the bed... More

My family and I stayed at Base2Stay in December last year. The staff were extremely helpful in directing us to some good restaurants in the area, as well as giving us discount coupons to these establishments. They also allowed us to keep our luggage at the reception area before check in and after check out. The "kitchenette" facilities in the... More

Nothing fancy but good attention to detail made for a comfortable stay. The rooms are not large but they are well designed. The hotel is located in a quiet street but the area is quite lively.

This was our first stay in London and what a find. The room was more than adequate with the added luxury of a mini kitchen. Just enough to make a cuppa or heating up some takeaway. Plates and cutlery supplied. The room was super clean and serviced every day. The best thing was the staff, they went out of their... More

Stayed in March 2012 in a nice bunk-bed double room at the ground floor for 3 nights. Everything from the start (booking online at the hotel-site) to our arrival and the very friendly front desk staff was easygoing and welcoming. The location ist quite agreeable and useful: just five minutes walk from Tube-station Earl's Court it is situated in a... More

The hotel service was the biggest stand-out point for my wife and I, super friendly and always accommodating our requests. Location is surperb, where two tube stations are less than 10 mins walking distance. The hotel room was clean and quiet, slightly on the small side; but I gathered this would be the case any where in London. Overall totally... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
