I've visited and lived in London and can state easily that this is the best hotel I've ever stayed in. (I haven't tried the Savoy, but at 500Pounds per night more expensive, I likely won't be any time soon.) The location is perfect. One block from Earl's Court tube, it is an easy and short hop to get to any...

Stayed here for eight days and another two days in June 2012. Initially on my own and then my daughter joined me. The staff were helpful at all times.

We stayed here for 3 nights in June 2012. I was really impressed with the size of the room. Based on other reviews, I expected it to be really tiny but ours was quite spacious. The bathroom was also very large, shower had great water pressure, and there was a towel warmer. The hotel was clean, friendly, and very nice....

I and my daughter stayed at this hotel from June lst to the 12th and then again from the 23rd to the 27th. First time at room 305 and the second at 504. Both twin rooms were identical, very cozy and comfortable, quiet and not so small as we were expecting. Excellent bathroom, comfortable beds, nice kitchenette, very handy for...

We were impressed with this hotel. All London hotels are expensive and this was affordable. Lovely and safe location with easy access to trains. Earls court station is an easy walk even with luggage. Don't expect huge rooms but they were nice and clean with a big shower and even a small kitchenette which was handy for breakfast. Lots of...

A nice, clean, modern hotel in a good location. Modern fit out, nice big comfortable bed. Only stayed for one night, but was perfect for what we needed.

We stayed here for four nights at the start of June, and two nights a couple of weeks after that, and the comparison was interesting. We booked the exact same standard of accommodation both times (Large Double/Twin) but had quite different experiences. On our first visit we had room 504, on the top level, tucked away in a quiet nook....

Dear FlossyFizzDog, Thank you so much for your very honest review. I can only say that I am sorry we didn’t deliver the excellent rating that you had come to expect from us on your second visit. Being a boutique hotel in such a series of late 19th Century buildings means that many of our rooms are different in terms...

When searching for a hotel, three points come to mind - location, a clean room and attentive service. Base 2 stay had it all, considering the amount of choices of hotels prior to the Olympics we made a good one here!

Exactly as it says on the tin a base to stay and that's all. The kitchen in the wardrobe idea is brilliant, however it uses most of the wardrobe space. Go for a superior room if your budget allows because they are bigger, otherwise rooms are small. The bathroom was really good, spacious and clean. It was our anniversary and we...

Having read the excellent reviews on this hotel, I decided to book it for 3 nights. The room was reasonably big considering what you might find in London. The location is good, just two blocks from the metro station (Earl Court), and there are several restaurants within walking distance. The staff is very polite. It's really a very good hotel for...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
