Detailed Reviews
Hard to find a reasonably priced quality hotel in London these days. Found one! Not been to London for a while but when we do, we don't like to be right in the middle near the sights and prefer the city end.
Hampton by Hilton London City is situated between Whitechapel and Spitalfields, an area we hadn't stayed in before. What attracted us first was the price and for around £150 got a decent sized room with breakfast included.
The next criteria is the nearest tube/bus stop. It is literally two minutes walk from Aldgate East and the same for the bus stop (if you always travel by tube, please download the bus app and try it, you get a better view of the city).
We googled the location and first thoughts were it looked a bit of a run down area with grafitti adorning the fence opposite the hotel. What we didn't know of course was that the artistic grafitti is part of the fabric of the area and a walk up Brick Lane you can see how it adds to the vibe of the area.
Reception to the hotel is spacious, clean and modern. The area extends into the bar and breakfast area. The reception staff were very welcoming and also apologetic when the computer kept saying no about my reservation but it was soon sorted.
The key cards to your room also works the front door (and the lift, after we went up and down a couple of times not realising why it wouldn't stop at our floor!).
Everyone who stays there has the breakfast included, so there is no checking what room you are in when you go for breakfast, just find a table and go for it. Breakfast had everything you would need hot or cold and was great. No problem finding a table because the staff were constantly clearing and very attentive so you can be sure of a seat.
The area seems very safe and we walked up Brick Lane both day and night. The street is home to a plentiful array of Indian/Bangladeshi restaurants. We had a meal in the Jaipur which was reasonable but also the best curry I had ever tasted (North Indian Special)!
Brick Lane is bustling with the restaurants and coffee houses and is also five minutes walk from the Old Spitalfields Market which is a great place to have a mooch around for unique clothing and all sorts of eating possibilities.
No photos of the hotel but a couple from the area to give you a gist.
All in all, a top hotel staffed by conscientious staff in a great area. Special thanks to the staff we met on our stay, Blerta, Rakesh, Tushar and Kathrin. We will definitely be going back there.

I use hilton all the time and for the past 15 years or so. This is the first time that it have felt the need to make a review on there new city of London location hotel. Its location is perfect. Its located at the south end of thr famous brick lane and jack the ripper territory. (Don't forget to check out the bigle shop). Walking distance to algate east tube 1min aldate 3min. Box city and shoreditch 10min, Tower Bridge 15min,. There is paid street parking directly outside thr hotel that operates 830 to 7pm.
Sun.to Fri, free sat, so traveling up for me and parking over night from.5p. was great. The paid parking is restricted to 2hrs. The reception/entrance/dining area is a like tech city style, nice clean tidy. The staff where great, big smiles and hrllows, for a moment I forgot I was in the uk ( am British and lived once in this area). Rooms and medium size but ample size and very clean as is the bathroom. Security at the hotrl is excellent with a high tech avignon cctv system and Controlled door access out of hours. I will be returning here.

New hotel, lots of room, excellent service. As a Diamond member for countless years, I have stayed at Waldorfs, Hiltons and Embassy Suites that did not come close to the level of service provided here. The staff was so attentive and helpful at all times! I will definitely come back next time I am in London. Rohan was especially helpful as was Bianca. Hats off to true professionals. The rooms were perfectly appointed with all the necessities, the beds were very comfortable and our room was quiet throughout the night even though it was next to the lift (elevator).

My wife and I stayed at the Hampton By Hilton - London City on two separate occasions for a total of 12 nights during our 21 day visit to England. During both of our stays we had the opportunity to experience customer service at its finest. The staff at Hampton By London City take on the look of their leadership team. I was fortunate to speak with Rajiv Valllikapen (Operations Manager) and Rakesh Singh (Front Office Manager). Both of these gentleman have a clear understanding of operations and customer service. They understand that looking through the eyes of their customers makes for a better hotel experience. This message is clearly understood by staff in a good way and customers benefit from the vision.
The hotel is located just a few steps away from the London Underground. (Aldgate East). This is convenient for travel throughout London.
The reservation includes a free all you can eat buffet breakfast that includes: full English breakfast, fruit, waffles, pastries coffee and juice. This is a popular hotel on the weekends however Berleta and Kanz supervise the food and breakfast area like masterful conductors of an orchestra. Both are warm, friendly and accommodating. They do their very best to assist all customers with their breakfast needs.
I have a food allergy and both had a great understanding of what could and could not be eaten.
The hotel is extremely security conscious and it requires a room key to enter the facility, additionally, room keys are floor specific.
The hotel is clean and well maintained. The showers have great water pressure and there is constant hot water. When it was time to checkout, we felt like we were saying goodbye to family members. I want to close by saying a heartfelt THANK YOU to the following staff members who made our stay memorable.

The hotel is a great location, close to the city center and the street where the best Indian restaurants in the city are located. It is recent and furnished in a modern way. Fortunately there is no carpet in the rooms (although there is a large carpet that they would do better to eliminate for obvious hygienic reasons). Breakfast is varied and quality; I particularly enjoyed the freshly made waffles. The room is also equipped with iron and ironing board (but lack headphones for the shower!). Good soap, shampoo, conditioner and moisturizer provided, so much so that I did not feel the need to use my products.
I personally found the air conditioning in the lobby very high.

We used this hotel several times when it was called Arbor City and this was our first trip after the sale and renovation to a Hampton by Hilton.
It's a great location. Brick Lane, Spitalfields Market and Petticoat Lane market are all a short walk away as are Aldgate East and Aldgate tube stations. Tower Bridge is about 20 minutes walk away
The hotel itself has undergone an extensive refurbishment which was finished in 2023. There is an open reception, bar and breakfast area on the ground floor and all the rooms appear to be in the new wings to the side and back of the hotel. The rooms are on the small side, but clean and comfortable with great beds, modern bathrooms, UK and international TV, free Wifi, free safes (big enough for a laptop) and a reasonable amount of space to store clothes. Probably too small if you are there for more than a week, however, and no view to speak of from either of our rooms (we were two couples).
It looks like all their rates include a very good buffet breakfast, the only problem with that, of course, is that all guests descend on the breakfast area at the same time so it gets very crowded between about 08.00 and 09.30, even on weekdays. The staff were very good with us, however, and always succeeded in finding us space without too much delay. In fact, the staff in general were polite and effective and any minor issues (my safe wouldn't lock) were sorted out very quickly.
Hotel prices in London have really gone through the roof in the past few years but this place remains good value for your money. Provided it stays that way, we will definitely be back!

+1
Overall a good stay. All of the staff were friendly and professional. I was surprised at how spacious the room was. Lots of sockets, good storage and cleaned well. Breakfast had lots of different options and staff did a good job replenishing any items and keeping it tidy.
Unfortunately my room was just by the main elevator so there was some noise at times. But this was really the only downside and if I had been staying longer I probably would have requested another room.

Fantastic hotel. Great value for money. Although fairly basic i.e no wardrobe just a hanging rail room was a good size, very clean and modern. Great pictures on the wall! Big shower, shampoo etc supplied, very comfy beds, kettle, fridge, safe.
With this price hotel I expected the included breakfast to just be continental however the selection was great: cooked English breakfast (only one choice of eggs though, scrambled), toast, cereal, pastries, fruit, cheeses, waffles to make yourself etc etc.
Staff were very efficient and friendly. Great to see enough staff clearing tables etc at breakfast.
Would highly recommend for between 1 and maybe just about 7 nights. Underground station (East Aldgate on Hammersmith & City) only few mins walk away.
Will definitely use this hotel again.
