The Phoenix Hotel garners praise for its outstanding value, offering reasonable rates, a decent breakfast, and a prime location that is both quiet and convenient. While the hotel's rooms are noted for their cleanliness and coziness, some guests find them a bit cramped and occasionally too warm.
The friendly and efficient service delivered by the staff enhances the welcoming atmosphere. Despite occasional noise complaints, the overall experience is one of comfort, amplified by the hotel's commitment to cleanliness and its proximity to public transport.

As a frequent visitor to London, I always stay at the Phoenix because of the reasonable prices but especially due to the reception staff & management of the hotel. The reception staff are always courteous, friendly, attentive, accommodating & professional in all aspects. Most of the staff I have known for many years & that includes the backroom staff. I find the cleaning staff just as professional & efficient in their cleaning & upkeeping of the rooms. The upgrades over the past years have been very helpful in keeping the rooms looking fresh. The lobby & lounge is amazing & looks very comfortable & inviting. I enjoy the continental breakfast and its many options of foods to eat; I think it is one of the best bargains in London. The kitchen staff downstairs are very friendly in their greetings to the guests as well as insuring that the food is being constantly replenished & the tables cleaned & turned over even when it is not busy. A big shout out to Management for their running of the hotel which is not easy for such a large number of rooms, including Kensington Gardens next door. Please let me know if you have any questions. Best regards, Owen

We recently stayed at the Phoenix Hotel in London and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel is in a very good location, conveniently situated near two underground stops ( Bayswater and Queensway are less than 5 minutes away ) with plenty of restaurants and shops just around the corner.
We requested a quiet room in advance and were pleased that the hotel was able to accommodate our request without any issues. The first night was quite hot, and although the rooms don't have air conditioning, it did come equipped with two fans, which helped. The remainder of our stay was comfortable.
One minor issue was that on one of the days, they forgot to refill our tea bags and milk in the room. However, we understand this is an easy thing to miss. We could have asked reception but we decided to leave it as it wasn't a big deal.
The breakfast offered was good and varied, served buffet style with plenty of options. I loved the freshly baked pastries! :) It is worth noting that there were no hot foods available ( ie no English breakfast items such as eggs, bacon, sausages, cooked beans etc). This wasn’t a problem for us, but it might be something to consider for others who prefer a hot breakfast.
The overall size of the room was small, but this was not an issue. Considering that everything in London comes at a premium, we were very happy that the Phoenix Hotel met all our needs at a very good price. The room and all the hotel amenities were very nice, quiet, and clean.
We will definitely come back and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a small, simple, and quiet place to stay in a strategic location. Thank you!

I really enjoyed my overnight stay at the Phoenix Hotel. The staff were polite and helpful. My room was spotless, comfortable and well presented. The facilities in the room were very good. Having a continental breakfast included in the price was great and the choice available was extensive. The hotels location is perfect too. A couple of minor moans - no air con or bedside table. It is one of the best hotels I've stayed in in London in this price range and is excellent value for money. Keep doing what you're doing!

My stay was genuinely enjoyable. The room maintained a high standard of cleanliness, and I appreciated the convenience of having hot water readily available in the bathroom. Additionally, the TV offered a good range of working stations. The hotel’s location proved to be exceptionally convenient for navigating around London, and its proximity to a variety of restaurants was a definite plus.

Very efficient & friendly check-in when we arrived. Room was spotlessly clean and the daily servicing was excellent. Breakfast was fresh, well stocked and all restaurant staff were attentive, pleasant and very efficient in clearing tables etc. The room and corridors were perhaps, for us, on the warm side, but that's an individual & subjective thing and I guess it's better to be too warm than too cold. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of storage room/hangers etc. The surrounding area was fairly quiet, clean and felt safe, but with access to buses and the underground just a few minutes walk away. Also a good choice of places to eat locally Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and will definitely be back when next in London. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to offer guests the option to not have fresh towels everyday, to help the environment.

Had a very pleasant stay here during my visit to London for the Eras Tour. Room was really nice (and surprisingly big!). Included breakfast was really good taken care off, all was fresh and always refilled before it could run out. Even when I entered the hotel after 1:00 the night of the concert they greeted me very nicely and cheerful despite the time.

I have been a regular customer of the Phoenix Hotel for the last 20 years or so.
I go every January to London with the excuse of the Harrods Sale though you never need a reason to visit London. Actually, my main interest is going to the Theatre. Because of the Covid pandemic I had to cancel my January trips in 2021 and 2022 but couldn't wait and went last September. And of course I have already my booking for January 2023 :-)
Hadn’t I discovered the Phoenix Hotel this long time ago I don’t think I would have been able to go so often. Hotels in London are very expensive and the relation quality-price is very bad indeed.
After trying many different hotels I found this gem which actually has been getting better every year.
I always find good rates, booking in advance of course, and even the most flexible tariffs are very good indeed.
The Phoenix is located in an ideal place, with two tube stations in a 5 minute radius. The lines served at Bayswater and Queensway are very convenient to reach the West End as well as train stations to go to and from the airports. The neighbourhood is really nice, with two fabulous pubs just 2-3 min away, plenty of restaurants and convenience shops.
The rooms are very nice and comfortable, small but not that much compared to London standards. There are plugs in logical places, which is really good indeed these days when we all travel with many electronic devices.
What I like most about the Phoenix is the tranquility. The rooms are very well soundproof. I have never ever heard conversations or noises from adjacent rooms.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Like in most hotels they change but reception always works extremely well. They don’t bother with never ending questions when checking in and everything is nice and easy.
Continental breakfast is more than in enough for a day in a big city and there’s the choice of cooked breakfast as well.
In conclusion, I call the Phoenix home when I think about London!

I have already stayed in 4 other hotels in Bayswater and have always wanted to stay in this one. I found it to be the best of all so far. The location is quiet and yet very close to the Queensway with 2 underground stations and many restaurants and shops. A friend and I had asked for two quiet single rooms and we were given rooms 401 and 301 as a small double room (as booked). As almost all hotel rooms in England naturally have thin plasterboard walls and are very thin, I can only recommend these. They have 2 external walls, the corridor and the emergency staircase, which no one is on. The rooms are very nice and comfortably furnished and I only deduct one point from the rating because they are a bit small and there is a gap of at least 1 cm under the door almost everywhere and it also rattled constantly. Tip: stick a tissue under the door lock and it will be fine! The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good for London. (But the English still can't make sausages tastefully!) So: an absolute must for London Bayswater!

Stayed at this property for four nights on a recent trip to London. Was provided with a queen room facing I believe the back of the property. The room was bright, well decorated, very clean but small which was our expectation coming to London, the bathroom was particularly small with a shower stall. The staff at the hotel were all friendly and welcoming and the front desk was helpful with hiring a taxi. The daily breakfast was well presented, had a variety of hot/ cold items and staff offered fresh coffee and tea. The dining room was spacious and clean. The location of the hotel is fabulous, close to a variety of pubs, shops, restaurants and the Bayswater tube station. I would recommend this hotel to others mainly for its location and value based upon the price we paid. There was also a small lounge open in the evening which was a nice spot to have a drink after a busy day touring.

My uncle having stayed a few times in this hotel recommended it to me for location, proximity to the tube for sporting events/concerts, cleanliness of rooms and overall great value particularly relative to other accommodation locally.
I was much looking forward to a stay in the Phoenix Hotel for a concert but unfortunately had to cancel at the last minute due to my husband being ill and advised not to fly. The hotel was most understanding and accommodating of our late cancellation and it eased a great burden where other hotels could have greatly penalised us. We look forward to staying later in the year and would highly recommend the Phoenix for their levels of customer care and the great Bayswater location. We noted also the hotel has an earlier check in time than other UK hotels we have stayed in this year which makes it more convenient if you have early evening plans.
