If you understand that London has mostly old buildings without elevators, you will probably be quite happy with Barry House. It's owner is courteous and most helpful, their breakfasts are good, too. Definitely worth staying here if you want to be central in London and convenient to Hop-on / Off bus tours, Underground (Paddington Station is just up the street).

Good location, nice breakfast, and accommodating family that operates. We are used to tiny London rooms (we've stayed across the street for the same price), but this was extreme. There is no lift, so we requested the lower floor which is actually the 2nd floor. Two rooms shared a narrow fire door to enter the rooms (25 & 26?). It...

First impression - the reception was not really friendly. They did not smile that much. They were not rude of anything but were not warm or welcoming (it was not Bobby, someone else). Then, we were shown to our room and had to carry our luggage up on the steep staircase without help. I was glad that I did not...

We attempted to find a nice average expense place that was convenient to tube stations. We got the conveneince of being close to both Paddington Station and Lancaster Gate Station and Bobby was really friendly and nice. However, the rooms were not very nice. I knew the rooms would be small and I had no problem with that but I...

Advised by friends that this hotel would be ideal for a short, (6 day), stay in London, very close to Paddington Station. Not expecting "Ritz style", I was favourably impressed by the accommodation, clean, serviced well and comfortable, plenty of tea and coffee. Bobby made a very good impression with his warm, friendly manner, his knowledge of London is worthy...

We booked this for the great price & location. You are minutes away from the train station & the breakfast is excellent! The front desk staff was able to secure us tickets to the Book of Mormon which was sold out, his tireless efforts really were appreciated and the show was the best I've ever seen. If you are ok...

I stayed for 3 nights in one of the "budget" rooms on the top floor, with a shared toilet and bathroom. On arrival, I was greeted very warmly by Bobby which made an immediate good impression. The stairs to the top floor are very steep but this was made clear on booking. My room was basic but clean, with tea/coffee...

On arrival the outside looked ok, good area with easy access to many areas of London. Inside, reception was small, shabby, old and depressing; the receptionist had little English and less personality. The route to the room was hazardous, with fire doors located on the edge of steps and landings with little room for manouvre beyond. The piece de resistance...

Bobby and his family are very nice and helpful. Starting the day with an English breakfast was great. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, but close the Hyde Park and many great pubs and restaurants. Oh, and Paddington Underground is very easy to access. The room we had was not at all fancy, but clean and comfortable.

We stayed for 2 nights sharing a 3 bedroom. The hosts were very welcoming and the property is in a good position for seeing London. Our 3 bed room was unfortunately very dirty and smelly. Underneath the bedframe was covered in dust, and in the bathroom visible muck and mould. Our room had a very noticeable musty smell to it....
