We celebrated the 80 birthday of my wifes mother with a grand week-end in Londen. We looked for a Hotel with the right atmosphere. Authentic but with all luxury to celebrate this memorable moment. We received a warm welcome and the rooms were excellent. The special requests we had during the week-end were handled very professionally. The grand parents really...

I had a fantastic vacation in a superior single room. Breakfast wasn't included, but the hotel is so close to Waterose and Garfunkel's so it wasn't a problem to get something to eat. I could also buy breakfast at the hotel if I wanted to. And with a fridge in my room I had food and drinks available whenever I...

This was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. I barely had room for my suitcase which thankfully was carryon size. It was a single bed but a good mattress and sheets that were soft. I was only there to sleep one night and so it was clean and quiet and comfortable. The staff were nice and it was...

It's a maze. The doors, the staircases, the wall paper, the elevators. Every time I would end up at a different entrance. Had a friend staying on a different floor and we used to play a game on who would reach his room first (without getting lost). Front desk staff very friendly and efficient. Room sizes can vary, I had...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
