The San Domenico House Hotel is exactly what I think of when I think of a 5 star hotel. First, the hotel is set in a perfect location on a quiet street that is just a minute from the Kings Road, and about 5 minutes from the Sloane Square tube station. There are a number of good restaurants, cafes and...

My husband and I stayed here just before Christmas for a weekend of shopping and catching up with friends. Firstly the location is fabulous, just behind the Kinds Road, short walk to Sloane Square station if required. Nice and quiet street and easy to find parking in the neighbouring roads. The welcome was fantastic, warm, friendly but not over bearing.The...

Stayed three nights including New Year's Eve. Warm fire blazing on check in. We wanted to have a nice dinner to bring in new year, but had no reservation anywhere. The hotel staff went all out to get us a reservation last minute the eve of, at a wonderful restaurant in walking distance. This hotel is first class all the...

A unique hotel in Chelsea integrating the best of Britishness with Italian flair and style and the only place to stay now we've been there twice! All rooms and suites are different with split level or single floor design, all ozzing luxury, Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who all care about what they are doing. More like...

San Domenico House gets top marks from me for old world elegance. Feels like a private mansion rather than an impersonal hotel. Could probably do with a refurbishment next year. There are some visible signs of wear but nothing to ruin my overall impression. Very nice to have both The King’s Road and Sloane Street literally a stone’s throw away

We stayed in room 102, gallery suite o 5th November 2016. Great room with very comfortable 4 poster bed. Lovely to be in a residential area in a hotel with all Italian staff. Very good full English breakfast. Excellent coffee. Good views from roof terrace. Next to King Road but far enough away to be very quiet. Very good restaurants...

location perfect. Concierge's so helpful and professional. You knew as soon as they met you at the door that this hotel was a cut above. We just loved every second of our stay and we will be re-booking. We are very picky but this place is faultless!!!

I have to say that we loved our stay at San Domenico House. We would definitely stay there again and recommend to anyone looking for a small boutique hotel in lovely Chelsea. Everyone at the hotel without exception was extremely friendly and helpful before and during our stay. We had a 2 level suite. I think it was room 204....

My wife + I unexpectedly stayed in the honeymoon suite (photo top left of this) , it was cold on arrival + warm enough by the time we left 2 days later. The en-suite was grubby + poor e.g. plastic toilet seat (not soft-closing) + toilet roll holder and bath tap hanging off its base. Breakfast was 3 star not...

Room was really nice and spacious - I had a balcony with a lovely view over Chelsea. Bathroom was great, spacious and clean. Location is great, right in the middle of Chelsea! Staff were very helpful, and really couldn't do enough for me.

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
