My partner and I stayed here for one night and we couldn't have asked for better staff. When we first arrived we were greeted by a lovely receptionist. We arrived at 12 and were not able to check in until 2pm. As we had a lot to do, the receptionist allowed us to leave our luggage while we went to...

I stayed at this hotel as part of a Topdeck package. The hotel is very good considering the cost of hotels in London. Room was clean and cosy and bathroom was decent. Location was very good, 2 minute walk to Earls Court station (which is a decent station in London and easy to get to Gatwick airport via Victoria station)....

The location is superb, 2 minutes from the Tube Station. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The room was spotless and the breakfasts, both the Continental and English, which is cooked to order, were excellent. I would definitely stay at this Hotel again and would recommend it.

I generally have 2 requirements for a hotel when traveling, centrally located (or close to public transportation) and that it's clean. As mentioned by many others, the hotel is located very close to Earl's Court Station, making it a great location for my recent stay in London. While The staff was all very nice and helpful, and our room was...

Our room was in the basement and had several flies buzzing around it when we walked in. The room was smelly and this may explain the presence of the flies. My friend's pillow was also smelly and the bathroom was in bad need of a makeover. The shower was hard to use and in the morning the toilet blocked so...

My friend and I stayed at the Burns hotel over carnival weekend. This hotel was my friend's choice. I read the reviews and saw the pictures and was very reluctant about staying here, but my friend insisted that the location could not be beat. The location of this hotel could not have been better. Literally 2 blocks from Earl's Court...

The hotel description does not reflect the reality. The room was so tiny one of our two suitcases had to remain on the dressing table. The "elegant furniture" was very well worn and soiled. The lumpy spring mattress needed to be replaced. There was no sound insulation to dampen the near-constant rattling of the nearby tube trains that run on...

Stayed her for 4 nights in September. The location was great....very close to Earls Court station. Hotel is on a quiet street, yet not far from many restaurants etc just around the corner. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Room wasn't fancy but certainly not bad at all. All round good value for dollar and I would stay here again. The...

The location of this hotel was great for our trip to London for 5 days. Being on the train line from Heathrow airport and very easy access to the sites of London via the nearby tube station was so convenient. The hotel itself was basic but clean with quite new bathrooms. We had a triple room, which was small (which...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
