1. Staff didn't know how to turn on my TV (I managed to do this though). 2. The remote doesn't work. 3. There is only hot water in our shower. We moved to another room, but other customers were settled in our room after this! They had to move out next day of course, because they have also found out...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. Good location - just a few minutes walk from Gloucester Road tube station - lots of shops and bars nearby. Our room was on the 5th floor at the back - it was fairly small with a small shower/toilet ensuite and was basically furnished. The bed was not very comfortable but...

The room was very small and noisy, services were poor and the staff was polite but not too friendly. In the morning at 7:30 am woke up by noises from construction works just on top of our room. The bathroom was very small and the bed was not comfortable. For the price and the hotel it was really poor, we...

Perfect location near to the museums in Kensington and great for our trip to the David Bowie exhibition at the V&A. Good sized room on the ground floor with a great en suite and fabulous shower, breakfast was average , some eggs and ham would have improved the toast and cereal choice , overall we were pleased with our choice.

Single room was upgraded on arrival to a double, but that's where the positives of the experience ends. Shower in room on 3rd floor was just a drip. When I called reception they didnt even question it, so i presume knew about the water pressure problem! He said only other room spare was behind reception on ground floor, after I...

You get the willies just entering this jail-cell sized room. And at what works out to around $150 per night shock might well be your second thought. On the good side, the staff is friendly and the hotel is located in a pretty nice area, about a five minute walk to the Underground.

The Avni is in a great location - easy walking distance to Gloucester Road or Earl's Court tube stations. We arrived a bit early, and the staff were happy to let us leave our bag in their luggage room. Our room was a good size. Bed was comfortable. The entire room was spotlessly clean and the decor was simple, modern...

We selected this hotel based on the area and the price as we were visiting the Chelsea Flower show. I booked 2 single rooms for 2 nights for myself and my friend and we were given a double room each, but the rooms were so small that I could not imagine 2 people sharing them. One room was slightly larger...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.

“Smallest room ever slept in !!!!! Barely enough room 2 people. Bed accessible only by one side. Extremely hot despite radiator turned off and this was February !!!! Had keep small overhead window open throughout night to allow some cool air flow through - don't know how anyone could sleep there in warmer weather. Hairdryer broken and despite reporting it each day not provided with alternate until last morning. Needless to say tiny en-suite !!!!! Only positive thing say is room clean and bed sleepable !!!!!”
