We booked the Melita due to great reviews, location and the photos looked really good as well. Location was fantastic but upon arrival, the receptionist did not exactly give us the warmest welcome but she confirmed that breakfast was included but NOT WiFi! Anyway, our room was on the basement floor and smelt terribly of damp, the shower door was...

Staff members are friendly and strive to be helpful. Our room was neat but small as expected for London. We were disappointed that the water pressure was very low and the WiFi was flaky at best. They reset the WiFi a couple times during our stay but it is too little bandwidth for too many people. The location is great!...

We stayed 3 nights over a weekend, the room was fair and clean, staff was nice and polite, however they changed 10 GBP for two days of wifi and 3 GBP for a cup of hot chocolate for my daughters breakfast, who didn't drink tea or coffee, what seams pathetic when "a full English breakfast" is included and it only...

The Melita is well located, just a few blocks from the Pimlico underground station. Walking distance to the main attractions in the city (Buckingham Palace, Parliament & Big Ben, London Eye, etc.). Staff is kind and helpful. I travelled in a business trip and took on their single rooms. The room (superior) was clean and I really don't mind being...

First impressions were good, clean, modern and friendly staff. Was in room 53 and the door wouldn't lock from either side and the toilet smelt like trains was not a pleasant smell at all, wifi doesn't work in room or reception and nothing can be done 'as its complimentary'. The breakfast was full English which came out cold with cheap...

We are sorry your stay with us caused you some discomfort. The door not locking is something easily remedied as it may have been double dipped by maintenance. It takes seconds to fix and its a shame we were not given the chance to do this. At no time was there any danger to you at the top of the...

The Melita is well situated in Pimlico. A 10 minute walk from Victoria coach/railway station. 3 minute walk to Pimlico underground station for Victoria and beyond. Also a 10 minute walk to the Tate gallery, 15 minutes to Westminster or 20 minutes to the London Eye. The room we stayed in was for 4. It had 2 single beds and...

This is a hotel is in a good part of London and clearly has recently been modernised. It's good that it's a family run hotel so I'm reluctant to be critical, but I do feel there are a few things to mention. when I arrived I was met by a very pleasant receptionist who was good throught the stay -...

Only spent one night here and managed to negotiate a good deal arriving from the street. The receptionist was most obliging and showed me both rooms that were still available. I chose the better one on the first floor rather than the more basic one in the basement. The wifi worked well and the bed was comfy. It was a...

The Melita offers a basic hotel service but charges enough to expect a bit more. For £189 a night WiFi without a £10 surcharge is not too unreasonable! The rooms are clean but dated - the room manual talks about the family owning it since the 1970s which is echoed by the fake wood laminated walls and teak bannister (the...

Staying in Pimlico

Neighbourhood Profile
Pimlico
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighbourhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
