Second visit to Hotel du Vin and the one thing I have to rate them highly is the consistency of utterly shambolic service. We dined at their restaurant overlooking the majestic gardens. What a disappointment. No menus, drinks didn't arrive, food came out cold, not at all, drinks finally arrived after 1 hour. Staff were too frenetic to care, management...

Had a nice lunch in the Orangery at Hotel Du Vin. Food was delicious, the smoked salmon starter was great and the mussels declines. Really big and a tasty sauce. Service was a bit slow at times, but didn't mind too much as they were really friendly and happy to help. The set menu is real value for money so...

Such a beautiful setting deserves better service. Frankly hopeless waiting staff, people walked out while we were there, others complained. Cold food, over cooked steak, dogs wandering around with no owners in sight, had to clear our own table on one course as sat for so long with finished plates. Rubbish.

Had an afternoon tea with friends here. We were sat on the corner sofas and the view was lovely. The food was very nice but the service was poor. They served two small clotted creams for 8 people. Not sure about the blue candy floss that melter all over the table, not really needed.

Took my mum there today for an early Mother's Day treat. I can honestly say it was the worst afternoon tea I have ever had. Even though I booked a month in advance, the best table they could give me was one opposite the kitchen door. They did move us to a corner table but the seats were stained and...

After staying at other HdV we were delighted to see there was one in Wimbledon. Sadly our experience wasn't great, The waiters etc are shocking ! The first morning there must have been 8/10 members of staff doing nothing! We waited 20 mins for a pot of tea, we gave up on asking for things as sadly 90% of the...

I decided to give the bistro a second chance after a bad experience for my birthday last year. I gave feedback and was promised I would be well looked after this year. Amazingly the service was possibly worse than last year. I am very disappointed to have had 2 birthday lunches spoilt. I have also been on occasion for morning...

I had high hopes for Cannizaro House when it was taken over by Hotel du Vin but on every visit, today being no different, I am always extremely disappointed. The service is utterly appalling. Guests seem unimportant, service is slow, staff are unhelpful with inflexible attitudes and not a smile in sight. As a local resident in Wimbledon, The Orangery...

Our family of 8 had an excellent meal here last Saturday night. The restaurant was busy, the service good and the food excellent. There is something for everybody and different price points. My tuna carpaccio was outstanding and my husband loved his fillet of steak. The service was attentive and efficient. Very small gripes are that the chandelier in the...

After a disastrous afternoon tea last year, we decided to give this hotel a second chance. Eight of us had a very pleasant evening in the Bistro restaurant. The staff were pleasant and attentive. The meals, which all arrived at the same time, were delicious. A good a la carte menu with plenty of choice. This hotel, in a beautiful...
