Citadines Trafalgar Square London enjoys acclaim for its prime location, offering easy access to attractions, which many guests find appealing. While some visitors appreciate the spacious rooms with kitchen facilities, others express concerns about the need for room updates and noise from ongoing construction.
The hotel's atmosphere and amenities, although basic and somewhat dated, are offset by positives such as free coffee. Although the staff is often complimented for their friendliness, cleanliness and additional service costs are points of contention for some travelers.

I chose this hotel because of its good location. Since I was using the subway for all my sightseeing, the location was very convenient, just a short walk from Charing Cross Station, and it was very easy to access various tourist spots. It is a busy area, so in the evening it was crowded with people returning from work, and all the shops were crowded. There are many supermarkets, Japanese restaurants, pizza and pasta restaurants, etc. nearby. Since it has a kitchen, there is a microwave, a kettle, and a washing area, so we often took out food and ate our own meals at our own pace. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and water are available at the front desk, so we went to get them every time. The room was clean and well-cleaned. The bed was comfortable and I fell asleep quickly. At first, I was confused because there was no room cleaning, but it was good that there was a place to take out the trash on each floor, and if I needed toilet paper or bath towels, I could go to the front desk and get them right away. I thought it was inconvenient that there was no clock in the room, so I would have liked one. The staff were very friendly and willing to ask me anything I didn't understand.

Overall a great experience. Can't beat the location within a few hundred feet of Trafalgar square and within easy walking distance of the theatre district and several tube stations. Love in room safe and kitchenette. So convenient. Nice large room and bathroom. Appreciate the bathroom heater, towel/clothes dryer which was great for drying some hand washed clothing items during our 6 night stay.
Why not 4 and not stars? The bathroom in our unit needs attention. The grab bars are loosening and needs regrouting. There was a hole in the wall outside our unit (#224).

Best thing about this serviced apartment place - it’s not a hotel- is its location close to several metro lines, especially Charing Cross, and several theaters. Check in was cumbersome. I was obligated to sign up online for their loyalty program even - though I didn’t want to do it - before being able to check in, then I was told this was a service apartment place but I’d have to pay if I wanted them to clean my room!! One day I called the reception to ask for someone to come pick up my trash and was rudely told to take it out it myself. I thought that was ridiculous considering how much I was paying to stay there. There’s quite a bit of noise coming from the street due to bars in the area so beware if you’re a light sleeper. Lots of screaming and laughing drunks during the night. Bedroom was small, two people would be on top of each other. There’s a small kitchen area with a small fridge and other things. Toiletries were of low quality, towels average. Bed was ok. Free coffee, tea and water, including sparkling, in the reception area all day. If you need to stay for 3 days or less, it may not be bad. But if you need to stay longer and want a clean room, know your tab will grow. I think there are good hotels in the area for the same price, which includes room cleaning.

Dear Guest, As we are an Apart'hotel - self services apartments- is a different concept, so the services are quite different from a hotel, all the details are explained in all the travel platforms and our official site, so the guest can decide whether or no to book with us under these terms. It is also explained that the cleaning service is not included on the rate unless the guest is staying for more than 6 nights. We only offer to sign up as ASR member if the guest would like to do an early check-in, which is the benefit of our loyalty program free of charge, otherwise the check-in is as usual, from 3pm. Kind regards Vanessa / Front Desk

We had booked to stay in London for my Mum’s birthday and liked the central location of Citadines as it was only a short walk away from the theatre and Trafalgar Square. Citadines left a note and some chocolates, which was a nice touch for my Mum.
However, we were mortified to find that the bed linen was dirty with hairs, dead skin, stains and holes. Additionally the air conditioning unit was not working in our room. After highlighting this to the staff, they were very apologetic as they agreed it wasn’t to their standard and had moved us to another room. However once again we were appalled to find that the duvet cover, pillows and fitted sheet was dirty with the same issue of being covered with hairs and dead skin. We requested for clean sheets to be provided and replaced on the bedding and were surprised when we ended the night at midnight by having to make our own bed because the porter who bought us the sheets explained that if we wanted someone to make our bed we would have to wait until 8am the next day when the housekeeping staff arrive.
After complaining, to compensate for this bad experience, Citadines agreed to refund us with half the price of the stay, which we were grateful for but the fact that they failed on basic cleanliness in not only one but two rooms has made us not want to return again.
Minor points; poor lightening in the bathroom.

Pros; the location is amazing, super easy access to many tube stations and options, very easy to get around from here Having the kitchenette is also handy especially to avoid paying for breakfast
Cons; plumbing is noisy. Pillows were very uncomfortable Main issue for us was that we stayed 6 nights and didn’t have our room cleaned. They tried to come at 3pm on the last day we were there but it was way too late at that point. They may not have even tried to come then if I didn’t go ask for toilet paper etc the day before. The staff didn’t seem too bothered by the fact we didn’t have our room cleaned
They try to charge you £50 for early check in and £15 if you want your room cleaned more than they would normally do (it’s supposed to be once during 6 night stay)

I stayed with my family at Citadines Trafalgar Square London for a week. The location is perfect, 3 min from Trafalgar Square & less than 10 min from (Whitehall gardens, Victoria garden, The national gallery, Sant James Park, among other attractions). All the services needed are available in the area, supermarkets, restaurants, cafes and pharmacy in less than 5 min walk (Tesco express, M&S food, Pert a Magner, Starbucks, Costa, Donut time charing cross, McDonald’s, Boots,…).
The building itself is an art piece from outside with a large beautiful lobby. It is safe as the doors opened only by card as well as the elevator. Reception is available for 24 h. There’re coffee, tea and hot chocolate for free in the lobby in addition to the complimentary ones in every room.
We were 5 and we stayed at the studio and the one bedroom apartment. They’re well designed, clean and spacious. Unlike the most of London hotels this hotel has an AC. The kitchen is efficient and well equipped. My only problem is the dim lighting.
The staff was great, they’re attentive and mad me feel welcomed. The check in and checkout process were easy and quick. They arranged us a housekeeping service and a late checkout for free, offered us umbrellas when it was raining and the housekeeping lady did a great job thanks to her. And finally the nice lady with the dark hair (sorry I forgot the name) who made our stay way better, she provided us with everything we need and answered our questions with a big smile. One of the male staff were cold and rude, but in general the staff were polite and helpful.
I’ll definitely stay in Citadines Trafalgar when I visit London again.

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment. The picture online are slightly misleading as far as the size of the living area, bathroom and kitchen area. There are NOT two full bathrooms. One bathroom has a sink and toilet only downstairs and the second has a tub/shower combo and sink upstairs (no toilet). The living/dining/kitchen area are all in the same spot and are small. The only seating is one small sofa and the chairs around the dining table. The stairs are incredibly narrow, steep and spiral which was not depicted in the pictures online. They are not safe for young children to navigate on their own. The bedrooms, however, are a great size and the apartment has a ton of storage space. All of that said, the location was so incredible that we would consider staying here again if nothing else was available within budget on the same street. We also enjoyed that fact that breakfast was served and there was a play area with toys in the lobby for young children.

The Citadines provided everything expected, a spacious room, excellent facilities and a very comfortable bed. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. The location on Northumberland Avenue gave superb access to the underground, Charing Cross and the Embankment stations being within just a few minutes walk. Also within an easy walk are restaurants, cafes and sites such as Trafalgar Square, the South Bank, House of Commons and Buckingham Palace. This will definitely be our go-to place on future trips to London.

We have enjoyed many stays at the Citadines Trafalgar Square over the past decade. Rooms clean, staff helpful, excellent coffee maker in lobby, and location excellent. This last stay a week ago (for a week) was somewhat disappointing. The staff remains extraordinarily helpful but the rooms need updating. Even with all available lights turned on, room remained too dark to read except on an iPad. The temperature ran hot and cold; we continuously opened and closed the window. The tub/shower was nice as were the towels etc, but again bathroom could use some work. One thing hasn't changed at all: the location is stellar.

Citadines Trafalgar has the best location! The heart of London is right outside the doorstep. If you enjoy exploring a place on foot at your own pace, the Tower Bridge, the London Eye, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, Chinatown are all within walking distance from the hotel. I have stayed here a few times in the past year and the hotel is always spotless and smelling fresh. It’s quiet as soon as you step in so you can enjoy some peace in your room after exploring the hustles and bustles of the busy city. The staff are friendly and accommodating — Stan, the Front Office Manager, goes the extra mile to help and his professionalism is commendable! I highly recommend Citadines Trafalgar. 😊
