Because we were taking a 13-year old to London, we wanted a 1-bedroom flat instead of hotel room - but we also didn't want to deal with the uncertainties of using a letting agency or website. Citadines was exactly what we were looking for - with the added benefit of an incredible location, steps from Trafalgar Square and convenient to...

Dear Jsilvers, Thanks for the posting, its great to read you had a good time with us. Yes all our rooms are in good condition, we completed a refurbishment in 2012. In regards to noise all our rooms are double glazed so outside should be minimal no matter which side of the building you are on. Thank you for your...

This hotel's location, for a foreign traveler must be the best in London. It is very close to three tube stations, two rail stations and innumerable buses that pass through Trafalgar Square. Everything a tourist could want is close at hand. At a minimum of effort one can have a fabulous time, whatever your taste.Restaurant, pubs galore. Our favorite wine...

The room are big enough and very comfortable, and the hotel is nice. The location is excellent, it is very near to a lot of places so you can walk and also close the the underground stations. The breakfast is not included and it is not worth what is costs, but there a lot of coffee places around.

This hotel is in the perfect location - close to the subway, trains, shopping and many of London's attractions. We could walk to Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, Westminster, the London Eye, Piccadilly and so much more. We arrived at the hotel after an overnight flight and everything was ready for us. We were checked in quickly. Our room was feather-free,...

We stayed for 7 nights mid May 2015, top location, clean rooms, 24hr free coffee. It's usually hard to find a hotel that you leave with no complaints. None here. 3 minutes to the Embankment ferry terminal or 3 minutes in the opposite direction to Trafalgar Square. Close to plenty of the cheaper eating places, theatres, Westminster and Buckingham Palace....

Can't beat this for location. Apartment was clean but the layout could be better, toilet could be on the bedroom floor instead of down the windy narrow stairs (ideally should have two bathrooms if catering for 6 people). Not sure if it was because we were on the 8th floor, but windows very high so although light enough, you couldn't...

Dear Penny H Thank you for reviewing your recent stay at Citadines Trafalgar. I am glad you liked your apartment during your time with us. We stayed here for six nights in May 2015, and would thoroughly recommend it. Service was outstanding, from check in to check out, with staff always happy to answer queries and provide assistance. The apartment was wall appointed, and we managed to score the only apartment with a washing machine, a real bonus after days on the road with large...

It you are expecting a hotel you will be disappointed, the front desk is not helpful, the breakfast is overpriced and lackluster, there is no turndown service, and it costs 14 pounds to do one load of laundry yourself. That said I give them an average rating simply based upon location as cleanliness of the rooms. Very close to the...

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighbourhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
