You can't fault the location but one of my most expensive one night stays and the room was very dated and poor value. Breakfast was great, contacting reception was an issue as they just didn't pick up. Overall better value available

A very enjoyable stay. Our room was a twin deluxe situated at the front of the hotel. We were surprised how quiet it was, no traffic noise and no corridor noise. Very clean and comfortable. Some food on the breakfast buffet could have been hotter, but still enjoyed it.

Context: I stayed here for a long weekend stay based on location, gym, pool and a bit of luxury. The Waldorf in Edinburgh is a landmark building of beauty and charm, and this swayed my choice. Plus Points: Great building, location and gym. Free bottled mineral water in the room and nibbles in the bar when ordering a drink. It's... More

Stayed at the Waldorf on a weekend break with my nephews and was not disappointed with our choice of hotel. Lovely hotel, good location, friendly, helpful staff. Stayed in an executive suite which was very spacious and well equipped, nephews particularly liked the TV in the bathroom. would definitely use this hotel again.

We booked an executive room to have access to the lounge. The lounge was great for a quick drink before dinner, breakfast wasn't that great as tables were in short supply, the bread ran out and the food was pretty average. Room ok, nothing special for the money - £300, and that was on offer. Staff brilliant, location for Covent... More

Prime location in London for musical and culture lovers, some of the musicals running even on the same building. Staff was very nice and attentive, with very professional attitude. Hotel itself is a bit old, and you cannot avoid noticing it. For me it was additional charm, but some might not like it. The only think we did not like... More

After staying here before a couple of times and not being very impressed the last time we stayed we decided to return, as a friend had recently stayed and was complimentary. We were both very impressed with the new refurbishment and the Executive lounge now seems to have its act together. The Homage Restaurant has an excellent menu and the... More

Myself, mum and friend treated ourselves to a stay at the Waldorf as we were going to the theatre. Check in was fine, very friendly. Room was beautiful and the little extras really made a difference. The executive lounge was comfortable and relaxing. The restaurant needs a little improvement in its service, this was extremely slow and one of us... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighbourhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
