We had a weekend of events at nearby Wigmore Hall and wanted to treat ourselves to a comfortable stay within walking distance. Mandeville Hotel provides a touch of luxury - but you pay for what you get. We had a lovely room - super king bed, luxurious linens, nice toiletries. Good coffee machine. Mini bar (very expensive). Iron, ironing board. Plenty of clothes storage. Comfy armchair. Useful desk. Reception staff were outstandingly welcoming and helpful - let us check in early, when we had only asked to drop of luggage. Great place for an occasional indulgence.

An addendum to thank the team at The Mandeville for such a tremendous contribution towards our wedding reception. From our initial enquiry, through to our big day our organiser and host Michele was warm, supportive, professional and candid in advising us of the venue's merits and catering options for our special day. She took care of all the finer details to alleviate any potential for stress.

After the event I am pleased to say that we were highly satisfied with our choice and can only express our delight and gratitude for a near perfect experience, from the catering, staff attentiveness, quality of the room, and the enjoyment of our guests.

They say that some of the best things in life come in small packages... The Mandeville Hotel is relatively small, however, punches way above its weight. We had a wonderful day for our wedding reception and a wonderful night's stay too.

All the best once more to The Mandeville team for their part in a truly memorable experience.

This wasn't our original choice for our wedding reception, but we were so glad we chose it and it worked out perfectly in the end.

We booked the Mandeville for our wedding reception which took place in October 2020 at a time when the restrictions on gatherings were gaining pace. We chose to have afternoon tea in a private room to reduce the risks to guests and give us a private space we could relax in after a stressful few days!

The private room worked really well -the team were really flexible and allowed us in early to set it up and decorate it to our tastes and were also allowed to stay on until closing time. The afternoon tea was a great informal choice and being able to combine classic afternoon tea and a more modern hot version was a great way to please everyone. The quality was great and the service struck the right balance between being unobtrusive and attentive.

We then stayed the night and had a late check out at no extra cost so didn't leave until 2pm the next day after a really relaxing sleep and great breakfast.

All in all it worked out perfectly despite being planned at the very last moment! Many thanks so everyone on the team who made this happen for us!

We stayed at The Mandeville for one night. The location is fantastic, a few minutes walk from Oxford Street. Check in was chaotic with only one Receptionist dealing with a long queue and multi tasking between checking us in to his right and dealing with a complaining customer to his left.

The room was a decent size for London but dated and tired (it gave me late 90s Travel Lodge vibes). It also needs some general maintenance (e.g tatty, stained headboard, stains on the carpet). Cleanliness is even more important whilst covid is still around and a quick wipe of the stained headboard with an anti bac wipe bought up dust and dirt which made me feel uncomfortable. There was also a thick layer of dust on top of the mini bar. At nearly £300 a night it should be spotless. The bathroom was tiny, the shower poor and dated, but it was functional.

The hotel in general is in dire need of some TLC and modernisation.

One side of the hotel is very noisy with street noise, it sounds like there must be a pub right outside, so request a quiet room if you don’t want to be disturbed.

What makes this hotel is the staff, everyone is so helpful and friendly and they are a credit.
The toiletries provided are also lovely. WiFi is good.

All in all we wouldn’t stay here again. We paid nearly £300 for one night and whilst Central London prices are of course higher, we didn’t feel this was value for money with the standard and cleanliness of the room.

I stayed at the Mandeville for 4 nights and chose the hotel based on location.

As you walk in, it’s very clear how dated the hotel is and how it hasn’t been done up probably since the mid 2000s.

The reception area and hallways are exceptionally clean and they have taken covid measures too.

The room I stayed in which was upgraded from a standard double to a deluxe, this rate also included a free full English breakfast.

The room was tiny. It made me really wonder how minuscule the standard double was! The room was clean, but like the reception area was dated.

The air conditioning would randomly turn on and off throughout the day despite me turning it off, the noise was incredibly disruptive and caused me to have pretty bad sleep.

The mattress and pillows felt cheap and were not supportive. The biggest issue Near the bedroom is that there is only one plug on one side of the bed.

Room service is incredibly overpriced and the menu was totally uninspiring and they will charge you a £5 “delivery” fee, I think this is them taking advantage of covid where restaurants are closed.

The breakfast I got varied the two times I had a full English, the amount of food, the items on the plate - zero consistency.

The staff were pleasant.

I’d say avoid this place and head somewhere much nicer.

Despite the current situation, the hotel staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. The room was spotless and this is one of the few hotels still operating a proper housekeeping service. A top class hotel in a top class location.

We hired a room for 30 people to attend a charity event. The cost was reasonable, the food plentiful and the experience smooth and professional.
We made the booking and handled all the details by email without visiting the venue in advance. the AV equipment worked well and the hosts were flexible to our needs.

I was visiting family for 10 days in London, and this is the area in which they live. The hotel is well placed for a variety of shopping and dining experiences. My room was on the back of the building which kept me away from traffic noise but there is a pub below and the noise travels up until 11 pm or so. Nice toiletries on offer and the linens are soft and brilliantly white. Pillows are a little soft but there were 4 so I was able to adjust myself for a good night street. Television stations are poor - partly the result of UK TV overall, but really a limited range with no Skye TV, which would have helped. For 3 days there were dirty plates and glasses on a hall table that were never cleared, and o think this is a result that the staff have assigned roles but aren't interested in performing the small extra things that raise a hotel to 5 stars.

We have just returned from a stay at the Mandeville and I have to say that the welcome we received from the doorman and receptionist was so welcoming and friendly. We arrived a couple of hours before check in hoping to stow our case but as our room was ready they checked us in. The room is small but clean and comfortable and the pillows were perfect! The bathroom was tiny and the frosted glass door didn’t fit all the way, you need to know your companion really well! The bath was tiny, I am 5 ft 2 and I had to sit bolt upright, the two shower heads with various dial and no instructions made it quite a wet start! 😂. The hotel was quiet and we were not disturbed by noise at all despite being so central. Breakfast was disappointing , the choice was fine but they need to keep a check on the heat and when to refil. The bacon was way to underdone for me and all the breakfast was cold by the time we went. There was no marmalade just lots of jam however when I asked the lady went and found some. My only other small gripe was that the condiments were both salt and both empty and there was a small pot of jam which I was going to use which had already been opened by someone else, a probable over site but wasn’t great.

The staff all wear face masks and there are plenty of hand sanitizers around. It’s a nice little hotel but needs a few tweaks and whoever designed the bathrooms was very odd! It was our anniversary and we were sent a little anniversary gift which was very sweet, also very tasty!
Overall though we would stay here again, sleep quality was good, it was very clean and the staff delightful. Location wise it was great, could walk to Oxford St and plenty of restaurants and cafes around.

We just stayed a few nights at the Mandeville in Marylebone! Service was first class from arrival to departure. James (front desk Manager) welcomed us with an upgrade which was hugely appreciated and the bags were taken to the room whilst we headed to the bar for a cocktail after travels. Our room was luxurious and considerably larger than many London rooms we’ve stayed in (huge bathroom with tub is always a plus). Hotel throughout is impeccably clean and in these current times that is comforting. A scrumptious Full English breakfast on the day of our departure all included in our room rate another bonus. Carlos, the concierge was helpful throughout our stay making sure everything ran smoothly!!
In summary, great hotel with friendly and attentive staff….. buzzy bar and solid restaurant. If you want to stay in the West End with a central location to many of the city’s sights……The Mandeville hotel ticks all the boxes!
Will be back in September.
