We booked here as a theatre break with hotel direct. Arrived early and was greeted by pleasant receptionist who asked for passport or photo Id......Why?? . Was then told we'd have to pay £50 for accidental damage insurance. We argued this as no mention of this was in our booking confirmation, if it was we'd have paid. Asked to speak...

We booked over booking.com where it said this hotel is centered very well and 'a good one'. For this prize- or to honest for any prize that is above a hostel- this hotel is absolutely horrible. We were first put in an basement room that was enormously noisy and dirty so we changed twice and then just settled for the...

This hotel was included in our package with the tour company so they probably got a good price on the rooms. The rooms are tiny! They crammed two twin beds together so they had a "double bed" but there was no room to move around at all. Amenities - a mirror, a shower; That's it. All the rooms had steam...

I came here with my sister for a few days. We weren't expecting it to be amazing as it was really cheap. However when we checked in I was told I had to pay a £50 insurance charge and I would get it back after we had booked out incase of damages. I would have liked to have been told...

Stays here for 3 nights and had read a few reviews on here so wasn't expecting too much. Overall the hotel is fine if you are just needing somewhere to sleep for the night. Our room which was a two person twin bed was very small and there was even another bed added which took up unnecessary space. The beds...

Good room and really good breakfast. The hotel is near the underground and a big supermarket. The only thing that I have to point out is the behavior of 2 receptionists (girls), they were very rude and even made fun of me. I'm a receptionist as well and I travel a lot and nothing like this ever happen to me...

Checking in at night at about 9pm, staffs seem to be sleepy. Not welcoming and was rude. Room was very small with the prive I paid and I don't think it is even worth it or worth the stay. In the morning, head downstairs for breakfast and the staff insisting breakfast wasn't included for me until I pull out my...

Clean room. We had basement room, so a little dark. Comfortable bed, hot shower. No free wifi. Breakfast just ok. We spent very little time in the room so not looking for a luxury room. About 5 blocks from Gloucester station on the tube. Plenty of places to eat near by.

The corridors where do dirty. The walls dirty the skirting boards thick with dirt. The bathrooms rotten the paint...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
