All of the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I didn't spend much time at the hotel, and because of that it didn't bother me that my room (#1) didn't have much of a view - ground floor, facing a rather dark and small area. The room my colleague was given (#62) had a nice view of... More

We were only staying in London for 2 nights and wanted to be close to St Pancras International and The British Museum. This hotel was perfect for us! The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The hotel has a lovely. Our room was small for 2 females travelling together. The bathroom even smaller. AND it was up 6 or 7... More

Obviously the location is great - transport, shops, restaurants etc all nearby and in Fitzrovia, a great part of London The reception staff were welcoming and professional and we enjoyed our stay. Negatives were: >a bit shabby in places. TLC required >abysmal wifi >good full Engilsh brekky but was served on too small and cold plates. Expensive stay at £200... More

First, the positive things about The Academy Hotel. This hotel is in a good location, within easy walking distance to several underground stations and attractions. The bed had a very firm and comfortable mattress, and duvet. There was a heated towel rail in the bathroom. Second, the list of negative things is very much longer. Our room was quite small,... Had a fab night away with my partner after booking this hotel on Secret Escapes. Our stay was last year and i have been meaning to write a quick review ever since so here it is. Fifteen min walk from Euston station & then a nice walk into convent garden, so ideally placed. Wonderful junior suite. Very clean & comfortable.... More

This hotel needs a total refurbishment, the only good thing it has going for it is its location - ideal for shopping and theatre visits. We changed room after our first night because of the noisy air con. , only to discover that it was just as noisy in the second room we were allocated. In addition, the telephone didn't... More

The room and bed was nice, but after seeing the hotel website pictures I expected a lot more from the wash facilities! Our "bathroom" was a cupboard with a shower in it. Definitely not what I expect for a 4 star hotel. The sink was so small that when I rinsed my face I just got covered in water! There... More

The Academy is perfectly located in the heart of london. Unfortunately the rooms should be renovated and refurnished. Price is low - ok; I still would prefer to pay a little more and get a renovated hotel for my next stay in london

We had a lovely afternoon tea for my friends Birthday. I absolutely loved it. The waiter that served us was friendly and helpful. I asked if they had anything gluten free, and he went out of his way to accommodate my needs. I had sandwiches, scones and even little cakes. Everything tastes so delicious. Lovely decor, clean restroom facilities. I... More

Only one night here to enjoy our slightly quirky room, with its massive bathroom down a small flight of stairs, big comfortable bed and old-fashioned sofa. It was amazingly quiet being at the back of the building, breakfast was copious and there was no problem leaving our luggage for collection later in the day. The hotel is ideally placed for... More

Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
