Club Quarters Hotel Gracechurch is often praised for its prime location deemed central and convenient for London visitors. Guests have commented on the modern yet comfortable atmosphere, highlighting cleanliness and updated rooms. However, the hotel has received criticism regarding value, with some guests feeling the experience does not justify the cost.
While the staff's friendliness and professionalism are frequently commended, there are mixed reviews about service consistency. Additionally, travelers have pointed out that rooms can be outdated with limited amenities and occasional discomfort due to noisy air conditioning.

Detailed Reviews
Fine for an overnight stay, but extremely expensive for the quality of accommodation. By comparison, I usually stay closer to Bank, and the accommodation is cheaper (by at least a third), fresher and generally feels better value.
The room was tired, with stained carpet, air conditioning that made an horrendous racket all night, and poor pillows. The water pressure from the shower was low, although the shower itself was reasonable, if tight, with oddly low ceilings.
Access to the room was circuitous, and not straightforward. In short, nothing to particularly recommend this hotel other than location, if you need to be in the City.

We stayed here for a few nights late Dec, room we were given 217 had a separate bedroom which also has a sofa bed so if you need a room with extra sleeping options as we did then this is a good room. The room was in good condition including the bathroom and it also has a kitchenette which has a sink and microwave plus kettle. Only one issue we had was being woken up about 5am from what sounded like bins being emptied however not sure if this is usual or from any building works nearby?
The hotel is positioned in the business district so do consider this as after hours not much is open nearby however, it is close to the Monument and Bank tube stations which are great for any exploring. Between them you have many tube lines at your disposal to visit the major tourist areas such as Westminster etc.
I should mention the Leadenhall Market is across the road and there is a Sainsburys up the road too for supplies after hours. It is also good for the Borough Market which is a short walk from the Hotel across London Bridge, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge are nearby also.
Overall I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for good accommodation nearer the east end of the city.

Dear Jason T Thank you for staying with us. I'm so very glad that your stay was pleasant overall. I am sorry that you were inconvenienced by the noise from outside. For future you will be glad to know that we have a Manager on Duty available 24/7-had you advised us at the time we would have investigated the situation immediately. Also we have options for rooms at the back of the hotel which may be quieter for some of our guests. We hope to be able to welcome you back soon. With kind regards Prashant

Few good and bad points about staying at this hotel unfortunately. Firstly we were given a nice room very bright and airy only to have an issue with the air con system loudly buzzing away… waking us both up at 0630 on a Saturday morning when all you are wanting is a lie in! Then having to move to a another room so having to repack only to unpack again in the new room. The new room not bright and airy at all if anything quite dark and dim with only a small window and the air con system barely working. Very very hot and stuffy room even with air con on full blast and windows open which was a shame. The air con obviously doesn’t work properly in the hotel. We got told our bags and belongings would be moved to the new room automatically so we packed everything neat and tidy crammed it all back into our bags and left them by the door. We went out for a few hours which we told them we were going to do, came back only to explain the situation all over again to another staff member and then having to go back to the old room and move our bags to the new room ourselves which was fine, no issues but just would have been nice to know from the beginning after having been told this was going to be done for us?!?
However saying that, the positives are….. A very comfortable bed, great facilities (microwave and fridge in room) excellent free coffee machine downstairs. Nice decor and lovely free toiletries to use if desired.
One thing to note though would be the milk sachets as part of the tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. Neither my partner or I have milk in our drinks we have black tea or black coffee, but the milk sachets were over a year out of date. One went off in 2020 and one in April 2021. So might be worthwhile to check before you use them. No point flagging it up to the reception desk as we don’t use them but I did put them aside date facing upwards away from the tea making facilities, hoping they would notice.

Arrived at the hotel early which meant we were not able to check in. This was not a problem as we were able to leave our bags and go out for the afternoon. However, we arrived back at the hotel at almost 5pm, 2 hours after check in time, and our room was still not ready. We were also charged an additional £63 to the booking price in case we wanted to buy any drinks (we didn’t?) and this was not mentioned anywhere on the booking. Our room was booked for 3 adults but when we eventually got in, there were only 2 towels, 2 cups etc… We did receive an extra towel when requested but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to assume a room booked for 3 adults should be given 3 towels without having to ask. On the second day of our stay, the fire alarm went off around 9am. We assumed the fire alarms were being tested - although 9am on a Saturday morning did seem a strange time to test the alarm. An hour or so later we could hear a dripping noise and noticed that there was a leak coming from the ceiling. I made use of the text service to reception and was notified almost straight away that they were on the way to check. 2 hours later and no one had been to check so we went out for the day. However, when we arrived back it was evident that no one had been to check the leak as the bowl we had placed down to catch the leak was still on the floor with water inside. The next morning we were awoken at 6am by the fire alarm going off AGAIN, for the second morning in a row, and guests running down the corridor. We exited the hotel and we’re left standing on the street for 45 minutes with no staff in sight to ask what was going on. When the alarm eventually stopped and we were allowed back in the hotel, there was only one man in reception left to deal with all of the guests. It seemed that they didn’t know how to get the lifts to work again and there was a shutter coming down between reception and the corridors trapping guests on either side. I have to add that not only did the one man on reception have to deal with all the guests alone, he also did not speak good English and struggled to understand us when we asked if we could go back to our rooms yet. Throughout our 4 night stay, we spoke to various members of staff and not one of them spoke good English. We were not told when we checked in that the rooms would not be serviced unless requested. I understand these restrictions are due to COVID but not having anyone at least empty our bins or give us more toilet roll, replacement towels etc when we stayed for 5 days is a joke. I would highly advise anyone thinking of booking to avoid this hotel.

The hotel chain offers a very fast check-in/out experience which is all digital (although I couldn't get a digital room key). There are free water stations on each floor with bottles, and also a free coffee station in the lobby/lounge. There's a text service if you require anything extra or have any issues, as I did.
The room that I was in was on the 5th floor at the back, it overlooked another building plus rooms opposite. It was also above a side street which meant the noise of people shouting after coming out of whatever establishment was there, was multiplied. The windows in the room are extremely old and single glazed, most of them were broken meaning they couldn't be shut properly. There's a secondary window shutter, which helps to eliminate some of the noise, but not good. There are blackout curtains.
The room was spacious and appeared clean, but extremely dated. The furniture was basic, including the bathroom. There was a very small old kettle and a few sachets of coffee/tea/milk. The most modern thing was a ridiculously large TV. The bed was bigger than a standard double and relatively comfortable although could probably have done with new pillows.
The walls are paper thin, so if you are a light sleeper, then this hotel will not be of any use to you as you can hear every small noise, so if someone is talking in the corridor, you better believe you will hear every last word as clearly as if you were stood having a conversation with them.
Breakfast was served in the attached restaurant/bar in the basement, (collect a voucher from reception if your rate includes breakfast or it will be charged to your room). There's a choice of either Continental or Full English, which is cooked to order - not buffet (2 sausage, 2 bacon, half tomato, creamy mushrooms, choice of egg and toast), it was nice.
I'm not sure exactly what makes this hotel 4*, it needs massively updating in my opinion, because the digital side/lobby and corridors are deceiving for what you actually get in the room. It was alright for a single night, but unfortunately they charge a 4* rate which you just don't get. It's in a very good central location, in between Bank and Monument underground stations and a stone's throw from London Bridge. I wouldn't stay here again and I probably wouldn't recommend it, however I would be happy to try other Club Quarters hotels, mainly due to their processes and efficient staff.

As a tourist and photographer, the Club Quarters on Gracechurch was the perfect home base for my stay in London in June. It's walking distance from Monument and Bank stations, 20 Fenchurch (Sky Garden) shops, grocery stores and Leadenhall Market is right across the street. St. Paul's, London Bridge and Tower Bridge are also nearby.
The room is nice and clean and I had a nice view of the Walkie-talkie building and other skyscrapers in the neighbourhood.
The main room looks pretty modern, however the bathroom felt outdated and the doorknob was falling off. I think the main room could also use a couple lamps for soft accent lighting at night instead of having to use the main light source which had a fluorescent feel. WiFi was strong and while daily cleaning service wasn't completed on my stay, they were quick to empty out the garbage bins when requested.
Two features I really appreciated were the free cafe machine in the lobby and the water bottle filling stations with filtered water on each floor. This saved me from having to spend money on bottled water and coffee in the morning. Overall I would recommend a stay at the Club Quarters on Gracechurch.

Our suite had a double bed and a sofa bed. Rooms are reasonably well equipped with a desk area and small kitchenette. Shower was good. Free coffee, teas and nibbles were available in reception when we arrived but had been cleared away when we came back from an evening out. Nice central location.
Breakfast in the restaurant in the basement was only OK and priced per item rather than the buffet style most hotels offer. It would have been better value to have gone elsewhere for breakfast.

Brilliant location if you need to to be in the City. Bank tube station close but not very close. Quick & smooth check-in & check out and reasonable size of (standard) room. Some nice touches such as purified water and free drinks & snack downstairs. Goofd overall cleanness but not spotless.
However, several negatives such as the dark room (even at the 6th floor), sad deco and an overall impression of older premises (the windows are decades old and supplemented by a flimsy additional inner window', noisy A/C & heating). Nice TV but many channels do not work. Comfy bed but your sleep is spoiled by poor noise insulation (noise from corridor, plumbing...). Same for the lobby with old & low quality furniture and a general lack of class & coziness (the picture on the site is NOT what it actually is). Regular & complicated breakfast (conti/full/Ã la carte), a full buffet would be better value, minimize waste (some unwanted items in my eggs plate) and take less time. Overall not that great value for what looks more a 3* hotel (GBP 600 for 2 nights single incl. breakfast).

Located in the center of the City of London, in front of the Leadenhall market, walking distance from Monument, Bank and Liverpool tube stations. So location is great for both business traveler and leisure traveler. The only disadvantage is that rooms face the main street has noise from outside which can be inconvenient at night.
Room I got was very big with a queen bed and open sofa, small kitchenette and working table with enough sockets, free WiFi provides an adequate environment for the business traveler.
The bathroom was small and fit for one person only at the time including only Shower with no bath which fits me anyway.
Breakfast was basic English Breakfast. I lack white cheese and fresh vegetables which I got from the kitchen after asking. Very few bread variety and one type of coffee. Breakfast room is very dark with no windows which provides unpleasant atmosphere.
The service of staff was very nice. I didn’t need them too much but when ever did they were very pleasant and cooperative. Be aware that room housekeeping is on-demand, which is an interesting approach, you just need to be aware of it.
All in all nice hotel for the business traveler on the verge of 4 starts (although consider as such). Fit for purpose for the business traveler in London City.

I stayed here for business and for the City of London the hotel is perfectly located. The rooms are on the small side and it would have been hard for a second person to get in and out of the bed as it was pushed against the wall and only had about 15cm between wall an bed. The hotel can be a bit noisy at night and the doors had a gap at the bottom so that light was coming into the room all night. So far, so not too bad. However, upon packing up after my stay I noticed that bedlinen was dirty and it did not look like stains that did just not come out during the washing, it looked almost as if the bedlinen was not changed before I got the room. Nice touches with free water, fruit, nibbles and wine throughout the day (wine after 5pm). The gym was small, but well equiped. I did not try breakfast, but my colleague was not exactly excited to tell me about it when he had tried one day.

I think it's free
Yes. There is a small bar but you can bring your drinks. Happy hour at around 6 pm.
The Sky Pod Bar at the Sky Garden is a 5 min walk away, incredible bar with amazing views over London. You do need to book online however.
There are several other cocktail bars within a 5-10 minute walk; London Cocktail Club, Be At One, The Folly, or if you head the opposite direction to Cheapside there are a few bars along there.
I had a late evening flight and they were more than happy to hold my luggage after I checked out while I was out doing a bit of shopping. Just make sure and give them a bit of time to fetch the luggage when you return, as it is stored somewhere separate from the lobby and it takes a bit of time to bring it back down.
