Great stay, very comfortable bed, very clean. Helpful staff with recommendations on transport/directions. 20-30 min walk to Harrod's, bit more to Palace. Always easy to get a taxi, did not try the tube from there. This is a bit pricey but for my daughter and me to stay it was very clean and safe, and very pleasant. I highly recommend...

I wanted a hotel within easy walking distance of the Royal Albert Hall, and The Gore certainly was, it was literally just round the corner. It's in a nice location between Hyde Park and the museum area for the Victoria & Albert and the Natural History Museum etc. and you certainly feel safe on the streets in the area. Lots...

I have been visiting The Gore over several years as it is very close to the Proms. The Judy Garland room is a superb room with comfort and space and is well worth the extra money. However, some things are simply not up to standard. For some reason there are no longer complimentary drinks in the lounge ('we don't do...

I have regularly used the Gore over the last few years as a convenient location for the BBC proms at the Royal Albert Hall. Recently the ownership has changed. Prices increased and service going in the opposite direction. Great bar for cocktails. Bistro One Ninety still had good food but the service was farcical.

This is another very nice hotel in London. Sitting in the heart of south Kensington and right around the corner of the Royal Albert Hall. This place a about 10 mins walking distance to the tube stations, but the walk to the stations is very nice. Surrounded by lots of good restaurants and bars. Bar at the Gore hotel is...

Booked this hotel for a weekend stay in London through booking.com. Booked a room large enough for 3 as our teenage daughter was also coming. On booking requested a bed rather than a sofa bed for her as that was given as an option. Arrived slightly earlier than the 2pm check in, and told that our room was almost ready...

There are a few basic requirements of a bedroom in a four star hotel. a. Double glazing b. A proper double bed (wider than 4' 6") c. Tea and coffee making facilities. d. Constant hot water. Unfortunately, our room at the Gore had NONE of these things, so don't believe the 'luxury boutique' hype. Yes, the staff are very friendly...

Special weekend at The Gore!!! Excellent quality at an excellent price. Located to the rear of The Albert Hall this unique hotel steeped in history was a wonderful experience for my family. It was such a change to stay in a hotel with character rather than in an enormous concrete box without any character at all!! Superb!

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
