Some details in the service of a hotel can be revealing. After a nice and friendly checkin I call the reception from my room. I explain that I have just realized that, to my surprise, my room is not equipped with electric plugs of international standard, and has only UK standard ones. Usually, in international hotel chains, you do have...

I attended a 2 day Business meeting hosted by my company. Bathroom was dated, television broken and it took 1hr for technician to arrive to fix. At breakfast on the final morning it was total chaos. No eggs etc. Staff were running up and down in confusion. And to add insult to injury I was charged £80 to use underground...

Booked here between 16-19 February 2017, for our first family trip away with our young one. Wanted a to book somewhere classy and with a good reputation. Being from Glasgow, the Millennium here is amazing and thought we would try the Kensington one. Greeted by the doorman who helped us with our buggy and suitcase and continued to help us...

We have stayed at this hotel at least 6 times in the last 10 years for 3 to 10 days. The rooms are large enough for UK and Europe. Service is good but the concierges are very knowledgeable and a joy to interact with. The tube is a 2-minute walk and there is an arcade with a pharmacy, several restaurants,...

We came back to this hotel after a reasonable absence. It is still a great hotel. Great property, fabulous location, excellent accommodation and friendly staff. Amenities nearby and plenty to see. Walking distance to some of the best museums in London.

Stayed here numerous times over the years. Room was booked online - per usual. On entering the room (double with queen sized bed) was struck by how cold the room was. So, turned on the AC/Heater. Room became even colder! Visited reception who promised a maintenance visit. Duly arrived and said that the room was heating up but also requested...

Hotel is located few seconds away from the tube station - very convenient since three important line are going through this station. Very nice and cosy lobby. comfortable rooms, poor breakfast (but this is the problem in most British hotels) friendly staff, but I do not like the fact that most of them are non British and have very heavy...

Just returned from a week visit to London. Could only check-in 1/2 hour early which was OK, I know they are busy. The location is great for traveling by tube, local full grocery (snacks and drinks), laundry nearby. As for the room 335, a 2- twin bed room, it was large and easy to move around in it. The beds...

I stayed here once before and was really looking forward to visiting again. Staff seemed polite and the room was nice. I was woken by two men at the door at 6am trying to get in. I called security and the said they sorted it. They may have been at the wrong door, rather than anything worrisome. I double checked...

Just returned from a week at this hotel. Upon arrival check-in line was through the entire lobby and after waiting for quite some time were told the room was not ready (granted we were there before stated check in). It appears that this hotel is very popular with flight crews and large groups. We spent the rest of the day...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
