Right by Gloucester Road tube, this hotel is in a great location. The rooms are quiet (windows open), and well appointed, although I found our room small. The reception staff were incredibly friendly and much more engaged than the usual generic hotel staff. I was impressed by their customer service. Comfortable bed, good bathroom - nice common areas, quiet, central...

The best thing about this hotel is its proximity to the Gloucester road underground station. Literally 200m round the corner from the hotel. This is a very large hotel which is constantly busy but the room we were allocated on the 2nd floor was large and clean. the beds were comfortable. we had breakfast on the 2nd morning and bought...

Just spent two nights at this hotel, which is ideally situated for visiting the museums and only one stop on the tube from Chelsea Flower Show (which is what we went for). The staff couldn't have been more helpful and kindly looked after our suitcases (and plants!) on our last day while we visited the museums. Would love to go...

My partner and I had tickets for the Arctic Monkeys gig at Finsbury Park on the 24th May and booked a room at an over-priced "travel lodge" type place near the venue as it was the only room available under £300 over the bank holiday weekend much to our dismay... To be honest I was dreading it having recently stayed...

Really helpful reception staff who moved us from a dark room overlooking a wall to a room on the 6th floor - much more satisfactory. Great location, just beside Gloucester Rd Tube station; (warning - the Piccadilly Line won't stop at Gloucester Rd from now until December 2014 - it is still served by the District & Circle Lines though)....

Used the hotel website to book in advance (March 14) as we were attending the Royal Albert Hall for a concert and this was just round the corner. Arrived just after 3pm in the afternoon and gave our booking reference to the receptionist who disappeared and came back with the manager. Was told that we would be staying in the...

Booked through " Secret Escapes" website very last minute and we were very happy with what we booked. Huge hotel right next to Gloucester Rd tube so easy to get to and easy to get into central London. Rooms were more for Business people and were huge if not a little dated. We had breakfast included which was very busy...

Coming off a transatlantic cruise with only two days in London, we found this hotel very convenient and the staff very friendly and helpful. Already from the check in I was advised that We will get a deluxe room..big was my surprise when I realized that a deluxe room was half smaller than a standard room.I went back and asked for a standard room and it was much bigger, nicer and amazing view of the park. Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
