Conveniently located a short stroll from Harrods, the Diplomat offers large, comfortably appointed rooms set in old-world surrounds. Staying 3 nights in the Mayfair suite on the second floor we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room (compared to the Hilton Metropole the rooms were palatial!) and check in is ridiculously simple due to the small number of...

I have just returned from a short break in London, and stayed at the Diplomat hotel. I had a wonderful stay; I am really wondering why the other reviews aren't as good. I think some people expect too much, London IS expensive! Your stay may be inexpensive in your city but in London if you want 5* luxury you're going...

The Diplomat is very close to Eaton Square and only a 5 min walk from King´s road. The hotel is quiet and we had a very spacious room. The interior style is old fashioned British, but well maintained. Breakfast has a big variety, the breakfast room is in the basement but very light and even has a little terrace where...

An easy walk to the Chelsea Flower Show brought me here, along with Pico Iyer's description of it as something out of a Graham Greene story. Very amiable front desk and dining room staff. I had the small single first-floor room that's shown in the traveler photos here on TA. Clean and tidy and a kettle for tea plus biscuits...

This listed building is situated near some of the most expensive flats and apartments. The area is quiet. Pubs, restaurants and other shops are about a minimum of 10 mins walk. The hotel has a small number of rooms (around 25) that vary much in size and capacity. My single ground floor room was small but adequate with an also...

No courtesy umbrella to go to the car or shops. Instead I was charged £8 for an umbrella which broke very quickly. Very poor attention to detail considering the price of £140 per night for a single room which was noisy because of single glazed windows. I will not be staying there again.

Stayed at Diplomat whilst on a leisure trip to London. Hotel is situated in a very quiet area. On arrival we were upgraded from a double room to a large executive room with a good comfy bed. There were teas/coffee facilities and a bar. The hotel is good for bus services and near to Victoria station and the underground. The...

We stayed at this hotel because it was near friends of our were staying. This hotel is old and because it is historic, it cannot be updated (so we were told). The staff was relatively helpful but they don't have much to work with. The "icing on the cake" was a sign in the bathroom saying that the water was...

The location was good and the price reasonable; a few minutes walk (aprox. 15min) until you reached the Victoria Station and the Underground. The staff was friendly. The hotel looks old fashioned but in a charming way although the furniture in the rooms looks old and warned out.

We just spent 7 nights at the Diplomat in one of their large rooms. Easy walk to Sloane square or Victoria, close access to buses. Very comfortable, with excellent kingsize bed, powerful shower in the tub, water fountain on the landing, efficient central heating and very little traffic noise. The staff is very friendly and international. If you want 5...

Staying in Belgravia

Neighbourhood Profile
Belgravia
Home to the vast majority of embassies and diplomatic residences in London, sophisticated and upscale Belgravia also boasts a wealth of luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and some of the city’s most stroll worthy lanes. While the prices here are high, taking a leisurely stroll through the streets of picturesque and elegant white stucco houses is free. Hyde Park and the Buckingham Palace Gardens are only a stone's throw away to the north, and some of Europe’s best shopping is nearby as well.
