I've wanted to stay at Hazlitt's for years and the opportunity arose last weekend when were planning a visit to the Soho Theatre. The hotel was exactly as I hoped and imagined- lavish, characterful and with an air of mild eccentricity. We were greeted warmly by the friendly reception staff. Our room was beautiful- gorgeous antique bed with Indian cotton...

We stayed in Hazlitt's for 1 night in August. It was a disaster. We were shown to our room on the first floor. The room was plush and very classy, but it was hot. Extremely hot. The staff noticed and turned on the air con. After a few minutes it was clear there was no air coming from the vent....

Very good hotel. Friendly staff, superb location next to all the great bars & restaurants in Soho. Smallish room but very comfortable. Shower very ordinary. Amazing fat hotel cat. Wifi not great. Brilliant breakfast places nearby, so no need to have breakfast in hotel.

I am a Londoner and have walked past and admired Hazlitts many times, promising myself I would stay, so when some rare child-care was in place I booked in for 2 nights. At first I was given a dark red room in the basement. Very nicely appointed, but 5 minutes in there and I was going around the bend with...

We both loved this hotel. The location is great for restaurants, bars and shopping. The welcome was warm and friendly and the room was lush (Superior double) with just the right shade of farrow and ball paint (Moles breath?!) The whole place feels ancient with it's sloping floors and wonky doors but that's all part of the charm. The bed...

Super cute, historic, and smack in the middle of Soho. Four poster beds! Great staff. Cheaper than other hotels in the area. Nightlife and late night restaurants and bars at your doorstep. No gym, but if you need a wicked super English place to crash whilst getting your exercise walking around London, can't beat it.

Just stayed for one night in the Jonathan Swift room - can't fault the hotel. It is quite expensive, but it is lovely. Friendly and helpful staff, a lovely intimate ambience and a beautiful hotel cat! Our room was delightful - more like staying in a loved family home than a hotel. Very clean, lovely breakfast delivered to our room...

If you're tired of beige bedrooms, then I recommend Hazlitt's. This boutique hotel offers real charm in the fantastic location of Central Soho. Our bedroom was a plushly upholstered delight, containing a superbly comfortable four-poster bed and an ornate en-suite with roll-top bath. Double-glazed windows ensured that the sound of nearby nightlife was kept out of earshot. Free, unlimited wifi...

We stayed a Hazlitt's after finding it a year ago during a visit to Ronnie Scott's. As a birthday treat for me, my husband and I booked into Hazlitt's Duke of Monmouth Suite. The suite itself was spectacular, with every comfort, you could want. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, however the manager, Fergal, was exceptional. There was an...

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hazlitt's occupies a group of historic Georgian houses in Frith Street, off Soho Square. In 1718 there were no modern conveniences, but we have updated the plumbing, installed bathrooms and replaced most of the candles with electricity. At Hazlitt’s our philosophy is simple. We have set out to create the kind of accommodation we ourselves would love to find in the heart of one of the World’s great cities. Civilised surroundings; old fashioned hospitality; friendly efficient service; a location away from the roar of traffic, but within a very short walk of the most important attractions. ... more   less
