Lets be honest. It's nothing more than a B&B in a an interesting, quaint old house in Soho. The room was tired, a bit dull, low ceilings, everything felt like it would could break. The bed was poor quality, we could hear everything in the corridor (meaning everyone else could probably hear us). All in all the hotel certainly lacked...

Beautiful boutique hotel, with amazing charm and history. It's like stepping back in time, yet with all the modern standards you'd expect (and need) of a modern luxury hotel. It doesn't have a buzzing hotel bar or restaurant, which keeps the hotel nice and quiet, and it does a charming honesty bar to unwind before heading out to one the...

A trip in early 20th century … with such a British spirit! A wonderful place full of charm. Great service - really nice people. The location in the heart of Soho is perfect to walk to any nice bar and for night life. I'll definitely return there again

Although the location was perfect and the staff were great, the hotel left much to be desired. A well looked after bed and breakfast is a more fitting description. The ambience is great, but both the communal areas and the room lacked all the modern and sleek comforts that most hotels in Central London offer when paying premium rates. Definitely...

Lets start with the good......ok...the great.....I loved this hotel.....i felt like i was staying in someones house....and like it was the 18th century....i loved that the front door (which is really a front door....) stayed locked all the time.....it made it much more private and personal. i loved that you can sit in the library or the salon in front...

No doubt many interesting people have stayed under this roof and enjoyed the refined comforts of this beautiful 18th century house. Not the best place if one is not used to the noise and clatter of Soho during the night and early morning, but for us an oasis of tranquility and taste.

I stayed here for one night with my boyfriend as he got us tickets to a film premiere, and seeing as though it was our first stay here, we were pleasantly surprised. We had the Lady Francis room on the top floor with a beautiful four poster bed and feature fireplace, the bathroom had a large roll top bath big...

We stayed for one night just prior to Christmas 2013 and arrived at about 7.30am straight off a 23 hour flight from Australia. Although we knew our room wouldn't be available until mid afternoon the hotel staff invited us to relax in one of their sitting rooms for as long as we needed. It felt very peaceful and civilised to...

Centrally located in Soho - good service and nice clean rooms full of charm and character. We were on the fourth floor - so four sets of stairs - luckily we left our large suitcases in left baggage at Heathrow. Would definitely stay again for an overnighter, or weekend - but anything longer or for business would not be an...

A beautiful, atmospheric hotel. Perfectly located, I dream of staying here again. Speaking of dreams, I had the strangest experience of checking out of Hazlitt's when I stayed there with my boyfriend in April. We hecked out at about 6am and were waiting in the foyer for our taxi as we had an early train to Paris when a massive...

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hazlitt's occupies a group of historic Georgian houses in Frith Street, off Soho Square. In 1718 there were no modern conveniences, but we have updated the plumbing, installed bathrooms and replaced most of the candles with electricity. At Hazlitt’s our philosophy is simple. We have set out to create the kind of accommodation we ourselves would love to find in the heart of one of the World’s great cities. Civilised surroundings; old fashioned hospitality; friendly efficient service; a location away from the roar of traffic, but within a very short walk of the most important attractions. ... more   less
