Generally very nice. The room was really good and clean but pillows not very comfortable. Shower was very awkward with a bit of the ceiling getting in the way and so couldn't stand up straight. The screen also didn't keep water out and so floor got very wet with large puddle. OK for me but if there are more than...

Dear Martin G, Thank you very much for your feedback. I was disappointed to read that we were not able to offer you the level of experience expected, please allow me to offer our sincere apologies for that. We have started the renovation of our bedrooms which will certainly make them more user friendly. I have passed your feedback about...

The staff are all very friendly, polite and helpful. The hotel itself is very nice, the rooms are a decent size and things like the TV's are of a good quality and size. The rooms and in fact the whole hotel was very quiet. The downsides are the beds and pillars are too firm for us and the WiFi was...

Just got back from a fantastic birthday weekend for my husband. I stayed in this hotel 5 years ago & liked it then but in the meantime it's had a makeover! We were checked in by the fabulous Tom who even upgraded us (thank you) & who couldn't be more helpful & welcoming. We had a superior room towards the...

Stayed 4 nights at the Mercure London Bridge. This is the ONLY hotel my brother and his wife will stay in during their numerous trips to London. The hotel was clean, the staff very friendly and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Walk out the back door to get to one "tube", out the front door...

We stayed for a few nights and enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel location is good as it's close to the London Eye, London Bridge and underground stations. There is a small Marks and Spencer's across the road and a few restaurants nearby. The staff on the reception were friendly and recommend places to eat...

Really nice hotel, pleasant staff and comfortable rooms. Stayed there as was on a night out in the local area but even tube is only 10 mins away should you be venturing further afield. The reception/bar area is very nice and comfortable (obviously recently refurbed). The rooms are not as new but definitely adequate. Pretty quiet considering city location.

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
