the service here was excellent, the staff were very friendly and helpful. the room is a little bit small but it is adequate and it is London, the hotel is in a good position though near London Bridge and the river.

My husband and I have stayed in this hotel a couple of times. The location is very good and when we stay here we tend to walk a lot more than when we stay further out (eg Canary Wharfe), it's only a couple of minutes to the river bank and millenium bridge. The rooms are pleasant, clean and functional if...

There are hotels closer to central London, but when you take price, amenities, comfort; nearby transport, markets and restaurants into account this place is hard to beat. The only negatives (and that's pretty good !) are noise from parties of guests in the lobby area and sometimes having to wait for breakfast . The wifi is very good, all facilities...

Although I found it pricey, this has to be the best hotel I have stayed at in a while. Very Clean, Modern, friendly staff and a great location. The experience starts the moment you enter the front lobby, they wisk you to a comfy chair and check you in. I really have no complaints, the room was spotless, the bathrooms...

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
