Stayed for 2 nights and the hotel really is in a great location as it's only a 2 minute walk from Tower Hill tube station. The rooms are nice and the breakfast is fantastic! The sky lounge is nice to go for a drink before heading back to the room for a great view of the Tower of London and...

Loved this hotel especially the location as its literally five minutes walk from Tower Hill station and close to the Tower of London,Tower Bridge and St Katherines dock. We were warmly welcomed and given a delicious chocolate cookie. We were lucky there were no queues for check in. I asked for a room with a decent view but was told...

This is quite a nice hotel but nothing special apart from the Sky Bar and the prices - in my case well over £200 room only. With an Apple TV in the room, five years ago this would have been really trendy - but with huge Smart TVs now universal it just appears small and clumsy. Check in was very...

Checking in was a bit slow but that's fine if you don't mind waiting. This hotel was the perfect location for the training I was attending and Tommamas who was Guest Services was very helpful in letting us know when there would be on street parking available - this saved us money for parking and I appreciated his help. The...

The best Doubletree Hilton I know. I have visited many times for the Skybar but this was the first time I stayed. The rooms are very clean and spacious and the staff are all very friendly. Definitely stay here if you are visiting areas near the Tower of London.

Recommend this hotel. Staff is courteous and professional; Sky Lounge offers impressive view of London skyline. Rooms are clean and spacious. Hotel is just a short walk to Tower Hill Underground for easy access to other London attractions.

Stayed here last weekend with a friend. We arrived around 11.30am, waited in a long queue and checked in ,we had emailed several times before arriving asking for early check-in as we had activities booked. When checked in we were told our room wasn't ready but it was understandable as we had arrived early. We were given a cookie and...

Stayed for three nights in February. Nice, modern and very clean hotel in a very well connected location. Tower Hill station is a few metres away and the Tower of London is on its doorstep. Perfect for exploring. The only downside of the area is that it's business centric so it's a little quiet for bars and restaurants at the...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
