Because the nearby Hilton Doubletree had more than doubled their prices for the 25th May, (Eric Clapton in town!), we found this hotel just a few hundred yards down the road. Excellent location for the museums, and the RAH which was where we were going, and very close to South Kensington underground. Small room and very limited facilities but, staff...

Fan hotel. Room was tiny, but had AC. Great cos it was hot on arrival. Everything was clean, loads of towels, tea making facilities. Noisy at night, hence one less star. Only cos the window was open and I couldn't shut it! Staff so helpful and laid back. Vettually opposite Natural History museum which is next to Science Museum, V&A...

This was a really central and surprisingly quiet location for visiting the museums and parks. The underground station is only 5 minutes walk away. There were many lovely places to eat nearby - we had a particularly good breakfast at the Lebanese restaurant opposite the station. The room was very small but we were fortunate enough to have a small double...

We stayed there for one night as we needed to go to the Imperial college. We got a room on the top floor facing the main street. The room was really really TINY but very clean and quite cute! The location was great, just minutes away from the Imperial college, Royal Albert Hall and the Royal college of music, the...

I stayed here as it was an excellent location for the Royal Albert Hall which is just a 10 minutes walk away. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was to much trouble. Always said hello and made us feel so welcome. The double room we booked is probably the smallest room i have ever stayed in....

Apart from the location which is literally across road from natural history museum and the other museums and a half mile walk to the Albert hall ,this hotel is tired. You spend most times sharing lift with the cleaners and as for the mattress in the room. Forget it. Worn out broken and unsleepable in. The room which was no...

Don't stay at this hotel if they give you a basement room, the hotel generators are outside the windows. So no sleep, no help from the staff they could not be less interested. Took full payment best they could offer is "write to us". All round bad hotel.

The hotel was in a nice location and so close to the tube and other great locations. The room was clean, but was smaller than I expected. Take a look at the breakfast before paying. I found it very limited and a trip to a local restaurant or bakery might be better. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
