I stayed just one night and didn't spend time in the room. Room was tiny as well as bathroom, difficult to wash your face when the basin is too small. Otherwise clean and quiet room, good shower and amenities like iron was available. Breakfast was...More
We stayed here on two occasions during our most recent trip and could not fault them.
Our first 5 nights were in room 312 and then a few days later another 6 nights in 413, both excellent rooms and we would recommend both depending on...More
We received a complimentary upgrade when we complained that our room (west-facing to Gloucester Rd) was too hot and too cramped with portable AC unit that wasn't working properly. It took a bit of convincing but staff were very accommodating and the frontdesk clerk who...More
There are a lot of positives going for this hotel, to name a few:

Reception staff were very efficient both in the evening and following morning.

With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming
and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.

No there is no alternative, and no doorman. If you want assistance you would have to leave your luggage unattended outside on the street and go inside to ask for assistance. Nobody will offer if you don’t ask! We were lucky in that another guest helped us up the steps. We also had a similar experience at the nearby Crowne Plaza, where the staff stood and watched us struggle with the luggage up the internal steps!

Sorry for the delay! It's 2:00 BUT; the staff was amazing at accommodating our luggage while waiting for the room to be ready. As we had an outing planned we pressed for an even earlier admittance. We may have had access around 1:30 but it still was close to 2:00.
