I stayed here for two nights recently, and found the staff to be welcoming and courteous, we'd travelled down to london on an early train, so called across to the hotel early to see if we could drop the bag off or check in, they allowed us to register, drop the bag off and even pay for the room early...

Somehow, I managed to get a good deal on this hotel and although it wasn't in the area of London I would usually choose to stay, gave it a whirl. I wasn't disappointed. The hotel is right at the tube station and an easy walk away from Tower bridge. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to...

I stayed at this hotel during a business trip and found it very comfortable and clean. Breakfast nothing to write home about, but the bar/restaurant, with its Samuel Pepys theme (hotel is on Pepys Street) has good food and is visually appealing.

Stayed here with my boyfriend for one night but wish we had booked for two! Friendly staff seemed to remember us from last time and we were greeted with smiles as we checked in; yet again we were upgraded to executive room which we were thrilled with! Had a beautiful meal in the Elements restaurant and then went out in...

We (family of 4) stayed here in 2 interconnecting rooms in Feb 2012 for 3 nights. I thought it was on the expensive side but the rooms are a good size especially for London. Showers were fine also. Try and get a price that includes breakfast as they charge £16/person otherwise (although children eat free with paying adults). Location is...

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on Tripadvisor. I was happy to read that you found the location great and the bedroom size and shower facilities good. Although the underground do operate planned closures over the weekend, these are advertised in advance on the TFL website. Our reception staff are also on hand and...

Stayed here last night with my wife and daughter. Overall a great hotel because I booked it with hotels.com. The room rate in the hotel was advertised at £415 for a triple room. It was not worth that. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The only downside was that to get to our room we had to walk through...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
