Located a brisk 5-10 minute walk away from South Kensington Tube station and very near Natural History Museum. Love the fireplace in the lobby. Humming bird bakery is round the corner and there are a few nice restaurants in the vicinity.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to Royal Albert Hall. The hotel is within easy walking distance of many museums, Kensington Gardens / Palace, and many restaurants. Several of the hop-on, hop-off buses have stops nearby. The South Kensington tube stop is close by (less than 10 minute walk, even with roller bags). Check-in was easy, and our...

The hotel enjoys a great location, less than a five minute walk from the subway, the Albert Hall is about a10 minutes walk. The area has lots of good quality restaurants. The staff are, without exception, very helpful . The breakfast is very good.Like many city hotels the room was a bit on the small side, but very well appointed...

We stayed at this hotel because it's in a prime location walking distance to Natural History Museum, Science Museum, The Royal Albert Hall and Hyde Park. The staff are very welcoming and helpful we had forgotten a few essentials which the hotel were able to provide us with. Not badly priced for the location the only let down was the...

The location is excellent, very close (walking distance) to things like the natural history museum and Royal Albert hall. Staff were brilliant, nothing was to much trouble! Only disappointment was the size of the room, I'd pay the extra to go up a few sizes next time as although still a queen the standard room is to small with the...

The DoubleTree London Kensington is conveniently located in a lovely section of London, close to two Tube stations. The hotel itself is very attractive, but the staff made all the difference for us. Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
