I stayed in the hotel for 4 nights. After reading some of the reviews on trip advisor,i was doubting my decision to stay at the hotel. Although the hotel was basic, its location was excellent, the rooms were cleaned every day. There was clean towels and hot water available and a wide selection of tv channels. There was free wifi available and...

Good location near the Russell Square tube station and the British Museum. Hotel itself is just ok. I had a nice view of the square, but my bathroom ceiling was mildewed and the beds were small. Continental breakfast is ok, cereal, canned fruit, juice and toast, but I would have appreciated fresh fruit and yogurt. Upgrading to the English breakfast...

After giving up on this hotel 3-4 years ago, I decided to give it another try now that the scaffolding has come off the front and the rates at the Bedford (its much better sister hotel) have gone up much more than the Tavistock's. I have to say, I slept well in my courtyard facing room, but oh those beds!...

The hotel is near Russel Sq and the nearest UG is Russel Square(10-15 min-ish).For an over night for us it was good as we had a room with a double and a single.and was acceptable. The price was the best I could find at the time for the proximity to St Pancras, and you could walk to in about 20-25...

I chose this hotel because of its' location, 5 minutes away from the concert I was attending in the evening and close to Russell Square tube. I stayed in a single room which could have done with a little attention but not too bad. The main problem was the bed! I've stayed in many hotels over the years and not...

I have stayed in this hotel many times and this stay was as good as ever. I booked a Lets Go Weekend - you have to do it over the phone but £125 for 2 nights bed breakfast and evening meal is great value. Tip - if you want a quiet room ask for one at the back. The rooms...

this hotel is at functional as it gets...the location is perfect as its very central but that is about it... the room is your average hotel size but is in desperate need of a renovation. the breakfast was awful with the waiters totally disinterested in giving us a good service. the most irritating thing was that we arrived around 1230pm...

Upon arriving there were two Japanese tourists in front of us who were not so good at speaking English. The man at reception was very rude to them and almost began getting angry with them! It was absolutely disgusting behaviour and I felt embarrassed that he was one of their first experiences in my country. It was also shocking because...

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
