NoMad London takes residence inside the historic, grade II-listed building famously known as The Bow Street Magistrates’ Court and Police Station. The transformation of the storied 19th century building draws inspiration from its history and location in Covent Garden, as well as exploring the artistic and cultural connection between London and New York.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

NoMad London garners praise for its well-appointed rooms, which many guests find to be a showcase of unique decor and exemplary cleanliness, although a few note the rooms can be somewhat dark. Set in the vibrant Covent Garden, its location is a hit for easy access to attractions and dining. While the service receives mixed reviews, fluctuating from attentive to slow, the overall atmosphere strikes guests as breathtaking and artsy.
Amenities are generally applauded, yet service inconsistencies are occasionally mentioned. Cleanliness stands out as a high point, but views on value for money are divided.

Very polite staff, doors always held open, always offered help with bags etc. I had a lady to come and do my hair and makeup for me as I was going to a party, they showed her up to my room and helped her with her bags too which was nice.
The room was absolutely spotless and I had everything I could think of, the clothes steamer was very handy as I had a silk dress that was quite delicate.
I was offered a turn down service in the evening which I thought was a very nice touch, not many hotels do that now but as I was still in the room I declined on this occasion.
The minibar was very well stocked and the room service menu seemed pretty extensive (even the menu for hours 11pm-7am) so I think this hotel would be very good for international travellers arriving late.
I stayed in room 314 which was an 'opera salon view'. The ceiling height was great, gave the room a sense of grandeur and there were pretty sash windows looking over the Royal Opera House. Really decent sized room.

I don't normally enjoy this part of London, I usually stay around Mayfair, The Biltmore and 1 hotel Mayfair are my current favourites but I wanted to stay here because of the history, Its very dark but the interiors are unbelievable, the atrium is one of the best features Ive seen in a hotel. There was a bearded man on the door (I forget his name but he said he was from Bangor), I started asking him about the history of the building and he kindly took us to the court room and told us all about history, what each room was and what changes had been made from the original building. Fascinating to think that the Krays and other notorious villains were tried in there. The hallways to the room were very dark which I didn't really like I can honestly say it's one of the best hotels in London. The showers are so powerful, the beds so comfy, you have lovely fluffy dressing gowns and slippers, hair straighteners and steamer. Will definitely go back. We didn't eat there because we had restaurants booked (I wasn't expecting it to be as amazing as it was) but I saw the afternoon tea and its looked very nice. I can't big this place up enough, even if you're not staying, go in and have a nose it's worth it.

We stayed at the NoMad hotel during our most recent stay to London. Upon pulling up to the hotel, the hotel staff greeted us and took our luggage from the trunk to the hotel. We were then directed to the check in area and greeted very warmly by the hotel staff once more. Check in was a straight forward process and the person checking us in let us know about all of the facilities and dining/bar options that the hotel offered. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, we knew that we were in for a great stay!
We had a superior room and upon walking in, I loved how it matched the artsy theme of the rest of the hotel. From the cute mini bar area, the artwork and the blue and gold personalized slippers, I was in love. The bed was very comfy and the shower was very powerful and soothing. The room was well kept and the cleaning staff definitely have great attention to detail as everything was immaculate.
Grounds: The grounds of the hotel are stunning. The atrium area where the NoMad restaurant is located was so beautiful! We ended up doing room service for breakfast most mornings, so we didn't make it, but the vibe seemed to be buzzing and friendly! We did go to the lobby bar and their themed bar Side Hustle beside the hotel. The drinks at both were great!
Overall, we had an excellent stay at the NoMad and I have to admit, I believe it has become my new favourite hotel in London! I can't wait to return!

I booked two rooms at Nomad covent garden, found the hotel and experience very disappointing. Rooms were very expensive, room only, not including breakfast, just short of £1000!, then they wanted to charge a “service charge” on top the room rate on check out?? To go towards housekeeping…Really?? We have stayed in many top London hotels and paid more for rooms, but still felt it was justified, but not here. Then on top of the room rate, basic breakfast cost £30 pp, coffee tasted awful, breakfast was small portioned and pretty basic boring tepid, grey food, served poorly, oh and they wanted to charge a service charge on top of that?? We also found non of the staff looked very happy and had no personal touch whatsoever. They also messed up our booking, then wanted to charge an additional £50 for a twin room! Communication through a no-reply email address and messed up my wife’s special birthday weekend. However they did try to make amends with a complimentary 1/2 bottle of fizz, better than nothing I suppose!! Alt”surprisingly the mattresses were open coil and pretty basic, the decor of the hotel is impressive and it’s a great location and quiet, and the concierge service was excellent, but we certainly won’t return. We just got the feeling the place was all about maximum money extraction rather than having an enjoyable relaxing experience. But maybe that’s London?

Dear Paul, Thank you very much for your constructive feedback of your recent stay with us. I am very sorry to read that the breakfast was not to your preference in our restaurant and that you did not feel you had value for money during your visit. Your feedback will be passed on to the relevant departments so we can continue to improve on our service further. The Accommodation service charge shows a breakdown of the discretionary service charges for our outlets and accommodation. Accommodation service charge accounts for 5% of the room rate per night and is a common gratuity distributed amongst all hotel staff, this is becoming more common in luxury hotels in London. This is a purely discretional service charge which goes towards the services provided by the Housekeeping team and the front of house teams. Should you wish to discuss this further, please feel free to email me directly on tgrey@thenomadhotel.com . We hope you will allow us the opportunity to show you the service in its truest form in the way we so pride ourselves on offering at NoMad should you decide to return in the future. Best wishes, Tabitha Grey Guest Experience Manager

While this NoMad is pricey we felt like we had the experience we paid for and the value was fair. The standard room was spacious and uniquely decorated and the larger hotel is gorgeous and has so many nooks and corners to explore. We loved the cocktails at the Mexican restaurant and bar and had a good breakfast in the beautiful larger dining room. The location is walkable though in a very touristy area. Oddly, valet did not help with bags or direct us when we arrived until prompted - maybe they get a lot of dining-only guests? All in we would stay again if coming back to central London, especially since it is kind of the last NoMad standing.

Whilst the food was generally ok, the service was disappointing and the bill came as a shock.
Table for 7:45, yet still wasn’t ready when checked at 8:15. Whilst this wasn’t a bother for us, it started an evening of constantly having to ask and chase for stuff. Maybe staff numbers affected currently, but felt more like we’re forgotten. My issues: Asking for a wine list (twice) but not ever seeing it, then suggested a rose on requesting a Provence, that turned out to be £80- is wrong!! Not even seen a Whispering Angel for that price in a restaurant. That price point should be mentioned on selection (actually just give me the list I asked for) and it is more seen for a decent red, not a rose, hence why didn’t question it on ordering.
Given the price it’s a good job they kept the wine in a trough away from the table and had our glasses empty so often as would have ordered a second had we been pouring! If service is a struggle, don’t make it more difficult by adding wine pouring as an unnecessary extra task.
We all ordered fish as not big on the meat choices. Was pretty nice and done well, however it was £30 for pollock. Whilst I like restaurants opting for more sustainable and readily available dishes, that price tag usually aligns with the likes of a Dover Sole, so taking the mickey really. My friends ordered sides of rosti potatoes with theirs (so the dish even at £30 may not satisfy a decent appetite) however that was disappointingly dry and hard.
Desserts didn’t blow people away and when it came to paying the £399 for 3 people (two courses, pre dinner drinks, one bottle wine) the service charge was queried and even the staff said they felt we were right to have that part removed.
Nice venue, but do feel intentionally mislead and saddened by it. May only want people frequenting the venue who have money and no sense to question….

The building is, as you can see from the photo's, beautiful. A wonderful mix of modern and classic with a grand entrance which gives you that buzz of arriving at a special hotel.
The photo's can't show you how wonderful the service is - it was exactly as I hoped, completely frictionless to ensure we had a wonderful stay. Bags were taken to the room without question, checkin and valet parking as seamless as possible, drinks around the hotel charged to the room without any fuss. When the odd wrinkle occured, that was completely unavoidable, the staff ensured they made it completely their problem rather than mine.
The library area cocktails are fantastic. We had a great raucous night in the attached bar on Friday.
Wonderful sleep in huge beds.
Excellent breakfasts.
Can't wait to return.

Stayed here in the beginning of October for the NFL game (go giants). I was in a classic room which was very spacious by European city standards and beautifully decorated. The bed was super comfortable, the shower had the best water pressure and their custom Nespresso pods made some of the best coffee I have ever had. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but I had some very good dirty martinis at the Library Bar. My only complaint is that the room I was in looked into the restaurant atrium so I had to keep the blinds closed the entire time and there was always a tiny bit if unnatural light from the restaurant in the atrium creeping in. I would definitely stay in a higher category room next time just to have a true window but if that doesn’t bother you the classic rooms are gorgeous otherwise. Service all around was friendly, helpful and five star. It’s an excellent city hotel and much nicer than many London hotels who charge 1k plus a night.

Dear Margaret M, Thank you very much for your wonderful feedback of your recent stay with us at The NoMad. We are so pleased that your stay was a special one. It is fantastic to read that you liked the setup of the rooms and our fabulous coffee pods. We have noted your comments regarding the bedroom overlooking the restaurant and the light coming into your room at night, we will certainly keep this in mind for any future stays you will have with us and do our best to allocate you to a room on a higher floor for future. Our martinis certainly are amongst the very best, I will be sure to pass this on to the bar team, they will be so happy to hear that they made this to your liking. We so look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future. Best wishes, Tabitha Grey Guest Experience Manager

We booked at short notice into this beautiful hotel central to Covent Garden. The staff were very friendly and attentive, making us feel instantly at ease. The rooms are thoughtfully and beautifully decorated and designed. You can tell real care has been taken to make what could have been an awkwardly shaped space into a room / bathroom that feels spacious, relaxing and flows nicely.
People have commented on the darkness of the entrance and I’d agree - I found it difficult to see what I was doing or remember where to go. However it seems staff on hand are prepared to steer you in the right direction!
The restaurant is beautiful as well. We spent lots of time taking photos! I’d just comment there’s no kid’s breakfast so our breakfast became incredibly expensive. I’d probably go elsewhere in that instance next time. But overall, it was wonderful. I’ve booked in again when I’m in the area in December!

We are thrilled that you enjoyed your experience with us and found the rooms to be well curated. It is also delightful to hear that you enjoyed the restaurant and its aesthetics. In addition to this, your mention of the breakfast options for children has also been passed on to our team to look into. We look forward to welcoming you back in December. I thought I’d treat myself to this hotel and see how it compared to others in a similar price range. I stayed 6 nights and the service was abysmal. There was no sense of welcome in the place and apart from concierge/door staff the breakfast staff seemed singularly uninterested in their work. Every morning I attempted to order the simple breakfast I preferred, and initially was told when different versions arrived, that “that’s how the chef has it prepared.” ! On the third morning I asked to speak to the manager as my request was ridiculously simple, yet still I couldn’t get what I ordered . And I ALWAYS had to ask for sugar, mostly had to ask for butter, and when I dared ask for a butter plate so I could spread the toast that was heaped on my breakfast, I was told that they aren’t usually provided. So it would appear I could use the tabletop or my hand. Never was I offered a second cup of coffee as staff studiously avoided bothering with service. In fact I heard others complain around me at the poor service. I began to suspect that the shortcomings were deliberate ways to save money. When I booked a table in the lovely Library to have a drink and nibble one afternoon, I was told after an hour and a half that I would have to surrender it as it “was booked”. Yet there were two empty tables right beside me. As I was about to tackle that, the receptionist returned to say it was OK I could stay there. All in all, this is a hotel that charges as if it is offering superior service and it utterly failed. It was overpriced, unfriendly, slapdash and inept. With NoMad New York now closed, I can only wonder if NoMad London will be far behind,
