The thing we remember most about our stay was the charming young bar steward who was working between 1030 pm and 1130 pm on the night of 3rd October. He is a credit to the hotel and I really hope he sees this. I said to him we are a couple of old country pensioners who don’t want this night to come to an end…..I just wish I had left him a tip….If anyone sees this and comes into contact will you please leave him something on my behalf! Thank you.
Our room was ok - We were only staying one night and the bed was comfortable, the towels, robes, and bed linen were of a high quality but I would have struggled with the opaque windows in our room if I was staying for a longer period.
Breakfast left me underwhelmed. I am very happy with the self service system but I am of an age where carrying coffee and tea to my table is a a problem. In a hotel like this, coffee and tea should really be served to the table - the rest of the self service breakfast was fine.
I am sure the hotel will respond that if I had asked for assistance I would have been given it. I shouldn’t have to ask and having actually asked for some cold milk the response did not make me feel comfortable asking for anything else.
Having said this, we had a lovely stay and the location is amazing if you are going to the Royal Albert Hall (which is why I booked it a year ago). Just a bit disappointed to find that having booked so far in advance directly with the hotel that www.booking.com were doing half price deals and one can’t help but wonder what rooms the last minute people were given.

Stayed 8 nights using the hotel as a home base while we toured this amazing city.
The boutique hotel is classically elegant and intimate....only eighty rooms. Our twin double room was a bit small but well appointed, and the high ceilings and big window make it seem roomier.
We were warmly greeted every time we came and went, and we felt so valued. Made the stay fun. Jerry and the other doormen were so polite and charming. Annabelle and the front desk crew were helpful too. Always quick to serve or answer a question, they immediately jumped into action when my travel mate thought she lost her passport. With calm, fresh eyes, they calmly helped her locate it just as we were getting ready to leave for the airport.
The location is terrific...2 blocks to beautiful Hyde Park and across from major museums and a short walk to great restaurants, pubs and conveniences, and the Tube.
Book online direct for discounts to save money, and I think you'll find it's a very good value.

Really convenient location for our trip to The Royal Albert hall, Museums and Kensington Palace. Pleasant welcome with every encounter with staff pleasant and helpful. We had a standard room with breakfast included. Our room was 203 on 2nd floor overlooking Queen's Gate which could have been noisy given the window was single glazed. As it turned out the road was generally not very busy and the light blind and very heavy curtain cut out most of the noise overnight. The air con unit worked, which is not the case in many hotels! It was, however very noisy and we switched it off. The room was small but adequate for a one night stay. The room and bathroom were clean and well presented and the big TV worked very well, again unusual in many hotels in London. The wardrobe is very very small and would be an issue if you had clothes for a few days stay. Good tea and coffee facilities and a mini bar which is only open if you pay a £50 deposit against any purchases. The hotel has a small public area and bar which unfortunately was "closed for refurbishment" on the days we were there. The hotel seemed very quiet most of the time and suspect it was well below capacity on the Monday night we stayed there. Breakfast is served in the basement level and was very good with plenty of choice and variety. Again all staff were pleasant and attentive. We would definitely stay there again if we are visiting that area of London.

The staff were pleasant enough, but the lift was too small for us AND the luggage AND the porter showing us to our room. It was an uncomfortably cramped ride - and that rather set the tone. The room was supposed to be a twin room - but there was only one chair in it because frankly, there was not room for two chairs. The light switches and temperature controls were electronic back-lit touch types which were not intuitive and we never got the hang of them. It took a while to realise the bathroom light did not have a switch. The light in the bathroom went off when you close the door - but there is a movement sensor in the bathroom which keeps the light on if there is someone in the bathroom! Who knew? The shower door did not fit so the floor flooded every time we took a shower The bathroom was so cramped that the shower door hit the toilet seat every time it was opened. The shower door would not open (or close) when the floor mat was on the floor. The large towels were hidden away in the clothes cupboard and we did not find them until we were packing to go. We made do with the hand towels. The minibar would not open! The breakfast room was noisy and crowded with buffet (self) service. We were rushed to our table and the explanation of where you could find the food was a gabble. In a 4 star hotel, you do not expect Travelodge breakfast arrangements. In conclusion, the hotel is being greedy in charging 4 star prices for what is actually a 'Travelodge' hotel. The room was actually a single room with a twin bed to extract higher value. There are better hotels at a quarter the price within a hundred yards of this hotel. Avoid it!

The location of the hotel is superb and stylish, and the staff absolutely brilliant in every respect. Charming, efficient and caring. The room was spotless with excellent facilities. However !!!! My wife and I rarely take holidays, so as a special short break for our anniversary, I booked what I'd expected to be an 'up market' experience at the Queens Gate Hotel for two nights, coupled with a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Rather than opt for a 'standard' room, I booked a Deluxe Queen Room to ensure that we experienced something a 'little special'. On arriving, we were shown to our so called Deluxe room - it was a pokey, small, dark room at the rear of the building with half of the window blocked by a 'concrete wall', cutting off any kind of view and most of the light. When I complained, reception handled it very professionally and immediately transferred us to another room. Unfortunately, it was much like the first room (again a the rear of the hotel) but minus the 'concrete wall'. The receptionist offered to move us to a front facing room for the next night, but we decided we didn't want the hassle. The breakfast is a 'buffet' arrangement which was again very disappointing. The quality and variety on offer, was excellent but unfortunately the management of the breakfast facility was sadly lacking. Firstly, on both mornings, the breakfast plates were literally cold, the fried eggs, mushrooms and beans were luke warm. The second morning I wanted scrambled eggs, sadly, the tray remained depleted for ages (I gave up in the end and opted for luke warm fried eggs). There was no butter for my toast (I had ask and wait for new supplies) and I had to get up from my table to find a waiter to ask for a knife (for my butter and marmalade) as there was no extra cutlery on offer (except a desert spoons). On booking out, I advised the very professional and charming receptionist of my concerns with the breakfast. Without, prompting, she kindly offered to credit my bar bill of £25. My accomodation and breakfast was billed and paid for on line, to the tune £768 - nealy £400 per night. I feel somewhat miffed.

Very well located between Gloucester Road and South Kensington Tube Station (Piccadilly, District and Circle Lines) and very close to Natural History Museum and V&A. Modern rooms with good facilities (e.g. tea and coffee facility, well stocked fruit basket, iron, safe, mini bar, bathrobe and slippers, more than enough storage space for clothes) and nice ambience, all very clean. Small but fine bathroom with very good shower. Large selection at breakfast (e.g. freshly squeezed orange juice, delicious Danish pastries). The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. I spent 9 nights in a room facing the street there and can highly recommend the hotel in a still relatively quiet location by London standards even for longer stays.

We stayed at the Queens Gate hotel in order to attend the Last Night of the Proms at the nearby Royal Albert Hall but sadly due to the death of HM The Queen the event was cancelled. However there is little to criticise about this hotel. It was immaculately clean throughout, efficient check in and we had an excellent and huge room at the front of the building. The breakfast was a superb help yourself affair. I raise particular attention to the young man who was the concierge and who assisted us in looking after our bag after we had checked out. Another special shout out goes to the Asian gentleman with a beard in the bar who served us tea on Sunday and who put so much effort into preparing and presenting us with such flare and attention. Thank you , your efforts were greatly appreciated. The experience though was a bit ‘sterile’ with the check in experience and the room lacking any ‘feeling’ and a rather mean offering of coffee pods and only six tiny UHT milk sachets and a single pack of biscuits Come on , we paid £344 for one night’s accommodation and in return we expected a bit more than that- pure greed on the hotel’s part. I would stay again but it was a bit steep price wise for what was offered.

We stayed one evening mid week for a visit to The Royal Albert Hall which is a five minute walk away . Reception on check in was chaotic with a trainee lady on duty trying her best yet asking everyone to sit and wait for room to be ready - we had plans so left and came back later .
Room was very small different to online pictures on 3rd floor however bed was comfortable and bathroom clean & modern . No kettle just coffee machine . Our biggest issue was bed was right up against the wall and very little room for anything .
Breakfast was incredible really good , fresh orange juice , freshly baked bread and a good healthy variety of products to suit most people , one of the best breakfast options we have seen in ages and the team were really nice , working hard to clear tables and replenish items , maybe too hot in the basement air conditioning needed .
Overall a good stay highlights being the location and comfy bed as well as fantastic breakfast .

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. At the Queens Gate Hotel, we always welcome feedback from our guests as it helps us improve our standards. It was surely a pleasure to read that your overall experience at our hotel was pleasant, and that you found our location convenient, our bed comfortable and our breakfast fantastic. We apologise deeply if you were delayed on arrival to get into your room, even though our official check in time is from 14:00, we always try our best to accommodate our guests as early as possible, but sometimes the volume of arriving guests at the same time might slow down our effort slightly, I am glad our trainee receptionist tried her best to assist you. Our aim has always been to offer our guests a memorable experience and exceptional service, and we always take the opportunity to use our guest's feedback for further improvements on our standards. May we also suggest, for future reference, to book our deluxe club or executive rooms, much more spacious. Our deluxe rooms are equipped with Nespresso machine; however, kettle could be provided when requested. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you back to the Queens Gate Hotel again soon. Warm Regards, Leila Abdulkerim The Queens Gate Hotel

The hotel is very convenient for the Albert Hall being only 5-10 mins away. The lobby and bar are compact and there is a small, very small bistro. We had a Deluxe Club room which was small but ok for just the one night. It was clean and modern with a very comfortable bed but awful pillows. The noise from the rooms on the lower floors facing Queens Gate is obtrusive - triple glazing is required. The bathroom was unacceptable. It was so small that the door didn't open fully, so you had to enter, shimmy to the side and then close the door! A larger person would not cope and would have difficulty using the toilet. It also steamed up due to the partially opening door.
The food at the bistro was good and the prices reasonable, although not a lot to choose from. The breakfast room was large and had a calm ambience. A hot and cold buffet was available, but the cold choice a little limited.
The staff were all excellent. They had a friendly and helpful attitude and the two guys in the bar were great - it closes at 12.15 am which is helpful if returning from the theatre or night out.
Room rates were a little high for the size of the room and amenities provided (no kettle ?)
I would recommend for a lay over for a theatre trip but not much longer.

Fabulous hotel near to The Royal Albert Hall, and we couldn’t fault anything. We were in room 1010 and it was huge , everything was in it you could possibly want and it was all spotless , high quality and in perfect working order. The beds were comfy , the linen was white and crisp, lovely bathroom and shower, big fluffy towels / robes and a breakfast that rivalled The Savoy , fresh squeezed orange juice the best and everything was delicious and perfectly presented. Lovely staff too . We are glad we couldn’t book our original hotel as it was full , this is better and we can’t wait to come back for another stay . Thank you 🤩

The better option is the hotel itself. We have a vast hot and cold buffet with great quality and variety, which if you book through the reception desk on check in is £15 per person. The better option is to book directly on our website, where the breakfast is free of charge (included in the rate). In the area, for below £10 per person we would recommend Paul, a french bakery with shops next to south kensington and gloucester road stations.
There are more places to choose from in the London area.
