I would start of by complimenting the staff at the Villa Kensington; namely, Gianluca, Enrico and a lovely lady who were always ready to help with every query we had during our stay. Even during our booking process, the team was quick to respond to our emails and had even given us a special rate as we were travelling in...

Just 2 short blocks off the Underground stop Gloucester Road. Clean and neat with a reasonable continental breakfast. All employees I met were cheerful and helpful. Person at the front desk 24 hours a day and have security cameras. I would definitely recommend and stay at this hotel if traveling on a budget.

Although this hotel is in a nice area of Kensington, it just doesn't come up to scratch. On the plus side, it is located near to the underground, and many good eating places. Also, the buffet breakfast was very good. On the minus side, because my renewed debit card had a slightly different number, the male receptionist queried this, and...

Dear Customer, I am sorry we just could not meet your expectations. We have taken on board all your comments. We will have to put more effort into our shortcomings. Many of your comments worries me a lot and I know there is room for improvement. On the other hand I was actually glad to read that my receptionist follow...

Good location for visiting Kensington museums (Natural History, V&A, Science). Parking available next door at Holiday Inn and also another hotel. Easy walk to Kensington Tube and 15-20mins to Leicester Square/Covent Garden. Had a room for three, a bit squashed as usual but a nice room, clean. Continental breakfast was included in our price but we didn't go down to...

Got this via a Groupon deal but also seemed to be the direct to hotel online price. Room a little bit on the small side but adequate for an overnight stay and a good continental breakfast included in the rate.

We felt we got good value at £69 for a double room for the night but the hotel is a bit rough around the edges inside, if nice looking on the outside. Staff were friendly, bed was pretty comfortable and room came with tea, coffee, biscuits and a kettle - not something you seem to get at a lot of...

Dear Customer, thank you for your feedback. Only one star though seems a bit harsh considering that as you mentioned, the room was immaculate, shower was amazing and staff very friendly and polite.....We checked and double checked; I believe my assistant even talked to you and confirmed that unfortunately your booking was indeed for a Twin room. Not sure what...

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, 2 adults and 3 teenage children, Sunday to Wednesday. We had 2 rooms beside each other which was very convenient. Bought a groupon so got a good price for a convenient hotel. Just round the corner from Gloucester Road Tube Station but also serviced by some handy busses which appeals to a couple of OAPs with bus passes. Have been in larger rooms, with bigger TVs and only 1 seat but a very comfortable queen size bed - en-suite and...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
