I stayed with friends here recently for 2 nights. Staff were very pleasant and concierge was particularly helpful. We were upgraded to a family room, which was nice and meant that we had a double bed each! Couldn't fault the room. I was well kept, neat and tidy. Nothing to get too excited about! Breakfast was great. Plenty to eat...

Normally I wait until the end of my stay to write the review but unless something drastic happens, I am pleased to recommend the Grange Rochester. Besides, I just finished an amazing chicken soup that begged for an immediate review. Suffering with a cold in the UK weather, I ordered chicken soup to start tonight's meal. I expected a thin...

I got a great deal on this hotel. It is in a quiet area and local sights are walking distance. It's about a 15 minute walk to Big Ben in one direction and about the same amount of time to get to Buckingham Palace. Front desk were nice and I got an upgrade. Loved the quit location, but walkabilty to...

Out dated, expensive & in desperate need of refurbishment. Booked via Lastminute.com top secret hotel and was very disappointed. I booked a single room for 2 x nights for my birthday which cost £200. The room was VERY small. The window wouldn't open more than a few millimetres due to a Safety feature. Room was extremely warm. No air conditioning....

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay. Maybe you would like to try one of our 5 star properties with spa and gym on a future stay, or even the Grange Wellington next door to the Grange Rochester which does have a small gym.

This was our final hotel on a UK trio and it did not disappoint. The rooms are 'compact' but not tiny and where the square footage is as expensive as it is in London that is to be expected. We arrived too early to check in but they took our bags and later bought them to the rooms, very helpful...

Clearing immigration, we needed to find our arraigned transportation collection point. There we had to wait an hour for the eight passenger van to be ready to leave. Then we were on our way to the Grange Rochester Hotel, an hour from the airport. When we arrived at the hotel they initially were going to send us to “another property”...

One issue we had, the hotel room was very small – even by European standards.. It was quite warm and the room was not air conditioned. We had to open the windows but the noise from the street (even though it was a quiet neighborhood) was too much. The next morning we asked for a quieter and perhaps larger room....

I'm writing this review quite late. I stayed at this place in April 2009. It was an official trip, stayed for about 4nites. Rooms are okay, good enough space, staff was nice. Location of this hotel is quite close to Buckingham Palace and Westminster area, just walking distance. There was a nice 'Indian Diner' across the road and i liked...

I stayed for 1 night and had a single room which although it only had a sofa style bed was still comfortable. I agree with other reviewers about the bathroom light problem and temperature of the rooms. I was also concerned as my room was immediately opposite the bar, however, my main problem was because of the heat I had...

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
