This hotel is in a great location for anything you might want to do in the City or further afield with rail, tube and Dockland Light Railway stations close by. Accommodation is of a good standard, and the hotel is clean, well presented and attractively decorated, although in the reception area however there seemed to be a whiff of bad...

My partner and i stayed at the grange city hotel from the 20th to 22nd of February for a weekend stay in London. We chose this hotel as it was located in central London close to many attractions and tower hill tribe station. We arrived to be greeted by the friendly staff at reception and we checked in with ease....

First, the positive. The location is good, on the District and Circle line at Tower Bridge and within easy walking distance of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. There's also a good bus service past St. Paul's to the Strand and Covent Garden. It's particularly handy to London City Airport via the DLR to Tower Gateway. There's also nothing...

We booked this as a 'mystery hotel' on lastminute.com and paid £91 for a night (room only). Hotel is bang next door to Tower Hill station and the Tower of London/Tower Bridge. When we checked in we were upgraded to an executive room at no extra cost which was a nice surprise. The hotel is clean and well staffed. The...

This was our second stay at this hotel and as we haven't tried their spa first time round, I was really looking forward to a bit of relaxation before going out and also to compare to other Grange hotels in London. As we checked-in I specifically asked whether there are bath robes and slippers in the room and was told...

Stayed here for one night for my girlfriends surprise birthday. I let them know before and they gave us a complimentary upgrade to a stunning room overlooking the River Thames with views of the Shard, the Tower of London and London Bridge. On our arrival they brought up a birthday cake for my girlfriend which was great. The staff were...

Just spent 2 days away for valentine weekend and would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a bit of luxury! We were offered an upgrade to an executive room as I had phoned earlier in the week before to ask for a Tower View. As we only had a partial view on the 5th floor we were offered the upgrade,...

Good value for money hotel. Loved the view of Tower of London from our bedroom. Could not fault this hotel therefore would definitely recommend it. The tube station was just next to the hotel therefore made it very easy to travel around London. Would definitely return.

I had booked this hotel online after reading some good reviews on it. The morning on the day of arrival I called in advance, told the receptionist that it was a valentines trip and to see if we could have a room on the 6th or 8th floor (as recommended on here) for a view of the river and tower...

Stayed for one night as we had tickets to see the Kaiser Chiefs at the O2 arena, and this hotel is conveniently located to the Thames Gateway DLR that drops down to Canning Town where you can change for the Jubilee line for the one stop to North Greenwich (and thus the O2 arena. Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
