The Mercure London Kensington provides value London accommodation in a central location within easy reach of transport. All staff were friendly and eager to assist. Rooms are comfortable and a reasonable size, by London standards. Free WiFi was an added bonus available in room and in hotel general areas. The buffet style breakfast was of a reasonable standard with many...

We stayed here for 2 weeks and Our experience was fantastic. The room was great and the location also. The entire hotel reception crew were so kind and friendly, especially Jakaterina! In 5 months of travelling Europe we have never seen someone so happy to help us with anything we needed! A wonderful person whose attitude to her job made...

I have a mixed feeling about this hotel. Nice and clean, but the room is so tiny that there's no place to even put down a suitcase. Not even a hook on the wall to hang a jacket, and I'm not picky about rooms. I know about European rooms beeing small and have stayed in many, but this one....!!!! Otherwise...

Dear Dimsky, Thank you for taking the time to post your review. Our rooms vary in size from small doubles to king executive. The small doubles are compact, however our guests prefer them as they are value for money. My personal suggestion for future stays would be to book one of our Executive rooms as they are very spacious. I...

We have stayed at many Mercure Hotels in France and Austria. We have found them to be very comfortable for a very reasonable price. The Mercure, Kensington in London met these expectations and the friendliness and knowledge of the staff added a big plus to our stay. The only negative is that the "small double" room is really small. We...

Fair location easy distance to walk to several tube stations. I had am issue with the hair dryer and the staff were very prompt in attending to my needs. We payed extra for more space, coffee machine and soft drink which for weary travellers were worth the extra $. Each staff member at the concierge highly approachable, I'm fact one...

Dear Kim K, Thank you for taking the time to post your review. On the night in question we experienced a power shut down that has caused our air-conditioning system to go off and it reboot automatically. We tried our best to have the issue resolved as soon as it was brought to our attention. I was disappointed to read...

Booked one night's stay here as a sort of last minute thing. The hotel is a few minutes' walk from Earls Court, and is very close to a lot of major attractions. I checked in at the same time as a large school party, and fortunately for me, the reception staff checked me into a bigger room than I should...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
