I stayed here for unfortunatley two nights, it was appaulling! On arrival we checked in and was told we had to stay another house called The Annexe two doors down. When we arrived we were greeted by building material in the hall way leaving us with very little space to even work through to get up the three flights of...

I stayed here for 1 night earlier this month. My friend booked the room as she has stayed here on a few other occasions. I unfortunately read everyone’s reviews on here before I went so I wasn’t holding out any hope of it being anything more than a hell hole. Firstly, without the risk of sounding like a snob, I’ve...

Stayed at Holly House B&B in October 2011 for two nights with my 14 year old daughter. Twin en suite room on the top floor. We chose it on the low price and being near to Victoria bus station (megabus cheap travel) and the theatre we had tickets for. It was clean, the staff were friendly, and suitable for a...

I booked this hotel as the location was excellent to where we needed to be and the pictures on the website made the accomodation look ok. On arrival the reception was fine nothing special but then the room was just completely NOT what I expected. The decor is dingy and univiting generally but the rooms felt like I had booked...

This "hotel" is filthy, poorly presented and the service is dire. I have stayed in youth hostels with better facilities. We booked a twin ensuite room and received a double with a filthy communal bathroom on the floor below - not exactly pleasant, especially as the lock didn't work so we were terrified to use it! The staff were rude...

OK, positives first. Handy location. The shower had plentiful hot water. You are given a map which entitles you to tourist discounts, and a business guide to the area. The sheets were clean and the staff, while not bursting with enthusiasm, were pleasant enough. But...the place looks as if it's been furnished from a council skip. It's shabby, tatty, grubby,...

Tiny rooms, no service at all. Toilet not working properly and in a "closet" in the tiny room. Bad breakfast. So decided not to eat there even though we paid for it. Overpriced. Really really looked crap. Both hotel and room. It was just about getting out of there and spending as little time as possible. Only good thing is...

Smiling and welcoming staff. Otherwise crap, cramp, moisty, noisy, dirty, smelly: a XXI century disgusting version of Charles Dickens account in dodgy London. It is not a nightmare for when you wake-up (should you have been be able to fall asleep) you are actually there: it is a punishment!

Staying in Pimlico

Neighbourhood Profile
Pimlico
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighbourhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
