I booked this because it looked rather grand outside (which it still does), and is in a good location in Bayswater. The rooms were very, very tight and we had to negotiate tight staircases with our luggage (no lifts) on the third floor. The shower/toilet was really the size of a wardrobe. In other places in London, the warm breakfast...

My husband booked this hotel probably because he hadn't read the very helpful reviews on Trip Advisor. The female receptionists are friendly and helpful, the male receptionist has a veneer of friendliness that strips off the second you forget his instructions about how to find some well hidden room then you get a raised voice and the distinct feeling you...

This hotel was absolutely disgusting. Don't ever stay here. Ever. The carpet in the room had seriously never been cleaned. There were stains all over it. The walls were disgusting - years of people touching them without ever being washed. The bedding and shower had random hairs in it. The blankets were stained all over. Absolutely gross place. Don't even...

It has taken over a week for me to get round to writing a review of our stay in what must be the worst room I have ever stayed in. To be honest we did book through a site which specialises in late rooms which we have used before, and it was cheap but if we had been paid to...

- Room was small and noisy, with old stained carpet, beat up furniture, and cracked paint - Toilet seat was not properly attached to toilet, shower leaked - Horrible breakfast that closed very early (9.30); only options were toast with jam and butter and cornflakes with milk - No lift (under renovation), had to take stairs to 4th floor -...

Booking in was easy - staff are friendly. Room was on the third floor, no lift. It was tiny with a small sized double bed pushed against the radiator under the window and to get out of bed I either had to climb over my partner or shimmy down the bed. The bathroom was also very compact. The room would...

Me and a friend stayed here for three nights and could not be happier with our choice of hotel! The staff was sooo kind and helped us with all our ''tourist-questions''. The room had nothing to complain about, it smelled fresh, big and comfortable beds and a TV that worked perfectly! Also, the wifi worked superfast and everywhere!

Maybe not 100% disappointed but have expected a bit more. We needed a room in central London for 2 nights and based my choice on previous experience - we did stay there about 3 years ago and have valued Wedgewood quite high. Did not expect this hotel to become Ritzz but its was not the same place. Lets start with...

The hotel is located in the Notting Hill area in a nice location, very close to the three available subway lines. The outside structure was nice, although a little bit too shabby. The room we had was in the basement, exactly between the kitchen and the luggage storage room, close to the Breakfast Room. There was one window only, overlooking...

We were a little unsure if we had booked the right hotel as we had read some bad reviews. The hotel has a great location, and is on a quiet street. Unfortunately we got a room in the cellar, which we had read was not very good by previous reviewers. However, the room was of good size and clean. Towels...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
