Good place to stay if you are using the O2 Arena and don't want to spend a fortune. Clean comfortable rooms, no food but there is a kettle with tea, coffee, biscuits etc. Baz and the team are great hosts.

I stayed here with my partner last weekend because I was running the London Marathon. The staff were very accommodating and encouraging, offering a late check out so that I would collect my bags and shower after the marathon, and at no extra charge. They made what could have been a stressful visit in to an enjoyable weekend simply by... More

Visited the Angerstein Hotel restaurant today for some lunch. Such a lovely place, the staff make you feel really welcome. The homemade seafood linguine was absolutely fantastic loads of seafood with a choice of chilli or a cream sauce, great value for money at only £8.00. The menu shows different specials everyday, can't wait to get back and try some... More

Booked this hotel back in September when I bought tickets for Muse at the O2, as it was cheap and near the venue. What a find! Excellent hotel which was spotless everywhere. The room was ample size and had two beds (I had booked a single) with flat screen tv and had it's own sink for a quick wash; the... More

Stayed very near here and we're looking for somewhere to lunch so used the pub. Had some great sandwiches, some Tuna, some cheese. The staff are really friendly. A lovely old building looks like a railway building! Great music. Glad we stopped off.

On Thursday we had tickets to see Coldplay at Indigo in the O2. Heard late that they would not be on stage until 11.00pm, so had to book a room for the night. We picked a small hotel called the Angerstein, about 6 minutes cab ride from the venue. The rooms are all shared facilities, bathroom and toilet but there... More

On arrival told room would be on the 2nd floor, didn't anticipate how many stairs we had to climb. The rooms are above a pub which we were aware. There was no noise from the pub below. The room was average size Only 1 Mirror in the bathroom which was awkward when drying my hair. 2 beds in the room... More

Staying in Greenwich

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.
