This hotel is well situated. Victoria&Albert museum (which was outstanding), Natural history museum, Harrods and Kensington palace in walking distance. The room was very clean and beautiful as well. My room (a double) was in the bottom floor and there was somekind of air contitioning device humming (quite silently though) behind my window and no wiev at all. But I...

Quaint Victorian style hotel. Searched for a single room, and was offered a deal on a triple for the same price. Rooms are not huge in London, but compared to others plenty of space to hang clothing & put luggage to the side. Bathroom door off to the side, immaculate, glass door, modern shower. Excellent front desk clerk, so helpful...

As a single person, I booked a basic single room and was pleased to find I had an en suite. Excellent value for money, very close to Gloucester Road tube station, museums and other London sights. Very clean. Hotel recently had double glazing throughout. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone and seems a nice safe area to...

Found this gem of a hotel online for a long layover (LHR) stay in central London. Getting from/to Heathrow was very simple and inexpensive with the tube to Gloucester Rd. Station as the hotel is only meters away. The room, hotel facilities and breakfast were adequate. Wifi was included and consistent throughout. Alicia at the reception desk was nice and...

I am so impressed that this hotel actually leaves the towels that you can reuse and save on the water waste. I see those signs so often and the cleaning staff just puts all new towels out. They clearly hung the damp ones and this is a great policy that the world needs to remember. This is such a fabulous...

...stay there again. Excellent location literally 2-3 minutes from the underground. Appearance was clean, warm and welcoming, and with a very pleasant lady at reception. We had a triple room and although not perfect (one can always find issues like a shower tap, a shower control that was stiff and not easy to get right temperature..... door frames has several...

I really must stress how clean the rooms are! As a hotel worker myself I am quite picky and the Montana was immaculate. The only thing missing was face cloths which we did not have all week. But from other reviews of hotels this is common in Europe. (so pack a facecloth) We did change rooms and took a below...

I don't have anything new to add that hasn't been said already, but here's the top reasons why I was very pleased with our stay: 1) All interactions with the staff very professional and helpful. 2) Our room was always clean and more spacious than what I had expected. The bathroom was small, but not as small as I had...

I didn't expect the Savoy and the room for a single was indeed small. The floor was not level but the room was accommodating and ensuite with everything you will need. Its airconditioned and if required breakfast is available but don't pre pay when booking as its heaps cheaper on the day. The room was on Gloucester Road but the...

A first timer staying in London, a struggled to know what was what and was very apprehensive about what I would get for a £98 two-night stay. I have to say I was absolutely delighted. A single room with shared bathroom was my first concern - on arrival the receptionist changed my room without me requesting it to the closest...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
