Great location (100m from Gloucester Rd underground). Very friendly and efficient staff. Thk u. Room / hotel is real real basic. All was clean. Room 580 is ground floor, no view and next to the cooling towers for AC so not possible to open windows unless you don't mind noise. WiFi is poor at best. Good signal but frustratingly slow,...

We stayed at the Montana due to the reviews, value for money and location. The staff were all very helpful, friendly and polite, the room was clean and had all the basic facilities we expected and there was secure undeground parking available at the nearby Holiday Inn. The English breakfast was excellent and nicely cooked, plus the toast, coffee, juice...

A nice hotel with an even nicer location, within walking distance from many sights including the Science, V&A and Natural History museums and Hyde Park. Plus, there is an underground station very-very close. Very good sleep quality I have to say, pleasant people at the reception and a spacious room. The WiFi signal was strong and connection fast. The breakfast...

We stayed here with family from Canada. From booking to leaving the staff could not have been more pleasant or acommodating. The hotel was clean and comfortable with a very good buffet breakfast included in our rate. The Restaurant served delicious Indian food which was a bonus. It is situated within walking distance of many museums, restaurants and shops and...

Stayed here in December for my birthday weekend. Staff were absolutely lovely, so friendly and helpful. So lovely that when they realised it was my birthday, a birthday cake was waiting for me when I got back to my hotel room! Basic rooms but very clean, wifi was also really good. Ideal location as a tube station was literally across...

I was at the Montana Hotel with my husband for one night and it was great. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom (even though small) was clean and had all we needed. The location is perfect! Complimentary coffee and tea were very much appreciated. I would absolutely stay at the Montana again.

This hotel is well situated. Victoria&Albert museum (which was outstanding), Natural history museum, Harrods and Kensington palace in walking distance. The room was very clean and beautiful as well. My room (a double) was in the bottom floor and there was somekind of air contitioning device humming (quite silently though) behind my window and no wiev at all. But I...

Quaint Victorian style hotel. Searched for a single room, and was offered a deal on a triple for the same price. Rooms are not huge in London, but compared to others plenty of space to hang clothing & put luggage to the side. Bathroom door off to the side, immaculate, glass door, modern shower. Excellent front desk clerk, so helpful...

As a single person, I booked a basic single room and was pleased to find I had an en suite. Excellent value for money, very close to Gloucester Road tube station, museums and other London sights. Very clean. Hotel recently had double glazing throughout. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone and seems a nice safe area to...

Found this gem of a hotel online for a long layover (LHR) stay in central London. Getting from/to Heathrow was very simple and inexpensive with the tube to Gloucester Rd. Station as the hotel is only meters away. The room, hotel facilities and breakfast were adequate. Wifi was included and consistent throughout. Alicia at the reception desk was nice and...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
