We stayed here for 1 night whilst visiting London and the Royal Albert Hall. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and made to feel at home instantly. All the staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. The location is fab - 10-15 min walk to Hyde Park, Kensington Palace, museums, and Royal Albert Hall. Room was extremely clean....

Lovely website, very smart and impresive reception area........but after that.....no thanks! Booked through booking.com and once checked in proceeded to a room in basement, dark dingy damp smelling. Twin bedded rather than double bed which we had booked. Basement room when we had requested not ground floor we expected to be in a higher level room, not the basement. No...

I stayed here overnight with three friends as we were going to a concert at the Royal Albert Hotel and it was great. The staff were welcoming and friendly and humorous and nothing was too much trouble for them. It was a good central location, the Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park as eassily within walking distance. The rooms...

Stayed here for two nights as we were booked for a show at the Royal Albert Hall which is a 15 minute walk away. Staff were friendly, buffet breakfast was good, fruit, cereals and toast, and they got me some gluten free bread! Our room was at the back of the hotel and it was very quiet. The room was...

Recently stayed here twice, arranged via travel agent & Air Transat. The price was right, including a cold breakfast buffet, with location near zone 1 tube station Gloucester Road. Note that there are no escalators at Gloucester Road, and lifts only carry passengers part-way. First stay the room was noisy, at front of hotel, so lots f street noise...very small...

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was clean, but not updated. We enjoyed our breakfast in the morning before heading out for the day. Great place to rest your head at night after seeing the sights especially for the value. Great Indian restaurant located in the hotel. Reasonably priced and the food was delicious. As a family...

We stayed 5 nights at this hotel. We got a room with one single bed and one double bed. The staff was very friendly offering suggestions of what to see and do in the area. With our room we also go a discount at the restaurant attached, which was also delicious! The continental breakfast had coffee/tea, toast, cereal, yoghurt, juices...

The really good thing about this hotel is it's nearness to Gloucester Road Tube Station. We had booked a deluxe triple room and a deluxe double room in this hotel for Easter weekend. The staff, especially Peter were very helpful and pleasant. The rooms are very small and the first 'deluxe' double room we were given (412), when we opened...

I'm going back to stay at this lovely hotel for a second time. I chose the Montana Hotel because of the staff, the well maintained hotel itself, the breakfast, and the hotel's ideal location. It's close to Hyde Park and the Tube station is right across the road. It is very simple to take the Tube, along with your luggage,...

Arriving on a bitterly cold day it was lovely to walk into a warm and welcoming lobby. We had booked a twin room but were given a room with a double bed and 3 single beds! So we had plenty of space, we didn't mind the downstairs position as we were only staying one night. I would have given them...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
