While accepting that London hotel accommodation comes at premium in a sellers' market, I think guests can expect certain minimum requirements in relation to the cost. The positives: the staff are all very friendly and helpful -- from the receptionists to the waitresses in the breakfast restaurant; the room was clean; the breakfast was adequate. Now for the negatives; at...

We thank the reviewer for complimenting the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff, this is much appreciated, but I just wanted to clarify his reference to the room price as this is referred to also in the heading to his review. The room he was in is one of our quad rooms for 4 people, at £109 per night....

I spent two nights in a single room, without facilities, and i was not impressed. Of course at that price I did not expect luxury, but in my room there wasn't even any space to leave a suitcase. I ended up sticking it on top of a rather wobbly wardrobe. Everything looks quite shabby and could do with a decent...

The George is a good choice B&B in the Bloomsbury area, one of an attractive row of B&Bs on Cartwright Gardens. The B&B is in a renovated Georgian terrace and slightly dated, more so in the common areas than in the bedrooms though (think faded carpets, ancient paint jobs etc.) The rooms overlooking the gardens are very pleasant, and windows...

My sister and I stayed at the George just a few days ago. It was a great and pleasant experience from the beginning: from the time we made the reservation, the staff was very attentive and very willing on giving us any kind of information we asked for. Rooms very clean, functional, great location (near tube and train stations, lots...

Upon arrival I much appreciated a helping hand and reception were always helpful and pleasant as were the breakfast and cleaning staff. The room was comfortable and sharing bathroom facilities was fine. They were always clean. Breakfast was plentiful and 2nds were no trouble. Being reasonably close to transport and even closer to the variety of local eateries was great.

We stayed here 5 nights on our recent UK trip. Although the hotel was not luxurious, it was a very good place for the price. The sheets and towels were clean, the bathrooms (shared) were recently remodeled and clean enough, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. The full English breakfast daily was really quite good, and the location is...

I stayed in the George Hotel with my daughter over the period of five days in the double room on the lower ground floor. There was plenty of room, the shower/lavatory was right over the corridor and only once or twice during the whole stay did we find it occupied. The building of course, is old yet everything was exceptionally...

I spent a week with my daughter and her friend (both aged 15). The rooms were clean and equipped with everything necessary for a pleasent stay. The hotel is in walking distance of bus and tube stops (and the British Museum), but is located in a realy quiet area. The full English breakfast was fine, staff was very friendly and...

This is a small, quaint hotel. The triple room we were assigned was in the basement and we were disappointed with the quality of the room. Great location with a couple of really good restaurants nearby. It was clean, but was in need of basic maintenance. The door to the room had a minimal lock and did not have a...

Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
