We have now stayed at this hotel 3 times, and are planning a 4th in 2011. For us it represents good value, friendly and helpful staff (received an unrequested upgrade to larger front room due to weeks' stay last visit), with genuine British breakfasts- busy, probably because others find the hotel good value too. Location near train stations good for...

My daughter and I normally stay at the Georges sister hotel, The Parkwood, Marble Arch, but as it was booked out they recommended this one to us. I would call this more a hostel, than hotel! Very cramped rooms, share bathrooms between floors, so you always had to climb or descend stairs and then if it was occupied, go all...

This is a decent budget hostel - which is hard to find in over priced London. The room we had came with a sink, double bed, a safe, tea and coffee making facilities and a wardrobe. We had shared shower and toilet which was fine - nice and hot shower and we never crossed paths with anyone else so privacy...

We had very helpful reception staff, who gave us directions, helped with recommendations on food around the area also. The room itself was small, as most european hotels are, but enough room for our two big suitcases, and had a nice closet. the bed was fairly comfortable, we had no trouble sleeping the nights we were there, it was quiet...

Spent 2 weeks here w/ friends. Good value; good breakfast; free internet and Wi-fi. Staff is helpful and friendly. Close to trains and underground; good restaurants nearby. Hotel is a little faded and needs some updating, but it's a 200 year old building and the location cannot be beat and the price is reasonable. Rooms and ensuite bathrooms are small...

For what we paid and the other hotels I reviewed on a similar pricerange and warning my partner to expect very little I was very pleasently surprised! Our room had a double bed, wardrobe, 2 bedside tables, chest of drawers, sink and flat screen TV, and an Iron and hair dryer and kettle. Due to booking last minute we had...

Converted townhomes make for a somewhat creaky but definitely homey atmosphere in this superb location in London. The hotel is close to good local restaurants and Tube and rail stations, as well as to the British Museum and Library. The staff are hospitable, friendly and accomodating. Very good breakfasts in a somewhat crowded dining room. Book ahead!

Would recomment this hotel for a convenient, reasonably priced, clean accommodation. The staff were very helpful, breakfast was very good, the room was very clean. The only bad point was the size of the bathroom, whilst bending over the sink you pushed the bathroom door open with your bum.

The best thing about the George Hotel was the location - it is a five minute walk from Russell Square station and with London's Underground system, this means you can get to pretty much anywhere in the city in minutes. It is also walking distance to Kings Cross/St Pancrass Station - we took the Eurostar from there to Paris so...

Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
